MY OLD MANS DAY TO REMEMBER

Fri Oct 29, 2010 5:11 pm

Got a call from him yesterday and he says how he'd like to go down to see the CCS ,i explain how it might not be possible to get into the ground today but i would do my best.Thing is he's in hi's eighties and has to go to Pentwyn three days a week for Dyalasis treatment so he's pretty sick for most of the time, so i dont like to let him down.Anyway down we go,were we meet a guy named Steve who turns out to be a top bloke and real Gentleman and Security officer to boot so i explain our situation and how if he'll let us in we'll only be a few moments while the old man takes a look at the ground.Forget it he says i can do better than that and takes us on a full tour of the place.Home/Away dressing rooms ,refs dressing room ,hospitality,Police room[shit the cameras there are impressive]even met the lady who does the laundry, and finally pitchside to stand in the home dugout. My old man loved it like a kid in a sweet shop[quite enjoyed it myself mind} so thanks to Annis for hi's help{sorry about the failed PM i thought i'd sent you which mysteriously appeared amongst my e mails, how the feck that happened i don't know]and thanks to Steve a real gent for giving up hi's time today. PS Not content with that the old man then wants to go to the club shop were he spends sixty five quid so i know what i'm getting this Christmas.

While we are congratulating a really top guy in Steve does anyone else have a memory of staff helping them out.
One year I got to the ground minutes after the 5pm deadline to get my season tickets at the reduced price.
The staff in the office refused to sell me any at the reduced price. Up popped Harry Parsons who made up some story about me just getting back from holidays and hey presto, I got the tickets at the reduced price. Harry did not know me at the time. Another top man.
