The wife has been nagging me since I bought the house to get a new kitchen but I've always managed to dodge the bullet. After 3 years of ear ache, I've finally given in. Can anyone recommend somewhere? I've never bought a new kitchen before but have seen so many horror stories on programs like watchdog/XRay etc (Moben were on there last night).
Some of the units that I have are ok so may just replace the doors, worktop and tiles (cos I'm tight)
Any places that you can recommend are appreciated!

I have heard Howdens are very good. I bought my last one from B&Q around 4 years ago and it still looks great.I went for the solid wood beech worktops which look great.Dont get them to fit it though they charge a fortune.

Just bought a full kitchen from B & Q. Do not accept the price they offer, they are deaparate for business and will come down in price, they also have a price promise that will guaranty they will beat any quote for a similar quality kitchen, I did this, told them Howdens were £1500 cheaper and the eventually knocked off £1600 (did not ask to see a quote, thank god coz I told them a load of bollocks). Be cheaky and the price will come down. Good luck

Got to be Ikea mate, best choice best price and everything so interchangeable can't be beaten, I am three quarters way through fitting mine now, quite enjoyed it actually, a bit like Lego for grown ups.

Cheers lads, will definately check out Ikea on Sunday. Didn't even think about them for some reason.
Seen a few tidy units in Wickes and they seem well priced plus you can take away from the store the same day. I know what youre saying about not using the shop fitters, had a quote from Homebase and it was over £2,000

Think I'll have a crack at it myself with supervision of the old man!
Tiling up next then......

Just used Howdens and they are incredible - Kitchen is phenomenal and I can't believe it's my home - top quality kit and a great price - but get a good joiner cos they will bump your price down to a stupid amount.

I guess IKEA is one of the leading furniture's manufacturer for kitchen now days. IKEA furniture's are that cheap and kind of do it yourself so there are no hassles for putting it inside the house. Unlike the common ready to use cabinets if they are too large then it is hard to put it inside the house.
