A forum for all things Cardiff City

I'm posting this cos i get fed up of the shit i hear about the love one player might have for the club he plays for!! Football is a business as well as a sport. Careers are short and sweet, money is huge (and possibly damaging game) street cred, respect and reputation are everything. The sooner fans, players and everyone else following the sport realises that the better!! Players in this day and age play for a club because they are paid massive wages and bonuses , not because of their love for the club or city!!!! There have been enough reports, rumours & stories over the last few years in the media to prove this!
I don't see much wrong with it personally, as long as the player comes here and puts in 100% effort, does his job and keeps the fans, management and colleagues happy.

Rooney being the prime example... £250,000 a week

That sort of money is beyond ridiculous!

I doubt if Celtic would have offered Ledley £25k per week in they had forked out a huge transfer fee for him , Cardiff thru and thru but £15k per week not good enough it seems PLUS an EPL club offering him the same too ! So go north of the border and play in a Mickey Mouse league for more money

Would you like to see him back at Cardiff though? Say we got to the premier league, I know he will come crawling back, but would you have him?

One of the most horrible sights for me last season was the sight of Drogba and Malouda celebrating a goal by the corner flag in their last game of the season. Malouda is paid huge, huge wages yet, not so long ago, was moaning that he had to play one or 2 games over Christmas, as they do not do that in France. If I paid a player his wages, as an employer, I would be within my rights to make him crawl on his hands and knees to work every day.

In the current team, where would he fit in? Who would he replace? We had the same conversation outside the pub the other day and we couldn't think of where he would go and who you would drop in the current team

With the team staying as it is, I agree there wouldn't be a place for Joe... However, if we make the premiership, I'm sure some players wouldn't make the cut.. I think Joe would end up as more of a bench warmer though!
