Former Cardiff City lead scout set for huge Liverpool move
Andrii Fedchenkov, who was Cardiff City’s lead scout between January 2024 and February 2025, is reportedly set to join Liverpool as part of their recruitment team in January.
The 30-year-old Ukrainian worked largely under Erol Bulut at Cardiff, before spending the final few months of his time in the Welsh capital under Omer Riza.
He was involved in bringing a number of players to Cardiff from across Europe and further afield, including Wilfried Kanga, Jesper Daland, Sivert Mannsverk, Roko Simic, Yousef Salech and Ryotaro Tsunoda.
A real mixed bag of signings, it’s fair to say!
Fedchenkov left Cardiff for Brazilian giants Flamengo in early 2025, but ESPN Brasil now reports that he has agreed a deal to join Liverpool when his contract expires at the end of this year.
He is said to specialise in the South American, European and Japanese markets, with Liverpool looking to expand their global recruitment network.
Quite the career trajectory from Cardiff City to Flamengo and now potentially Liverpool in less than two years!
