Play offs anyone

Not getting ahead of my self but WHY NOT ??????

Love the optimism but unless our away form radically improves not at the moment. I am just delighted to be away from the relegation zone and turning up to matches believing we will have a go. Top half finish would be excellent.

I think we're a mid table team. Don't see us troubling the play-offs but I've always said we'll be nowhere near the bottom three.

We were playing well and not getting points before, so seven from nine in the last three is just what we needed.

Currently I don’t think we have the strength in depth for play offs but we are more than capable of playing football good enough for it.

Currently I’ll be happy with a comfortable staying up.

A decent transfer window though and it’s all bets off

I don't think we see the real BBM system until we let Chambers, Robinson, Willock and Turnbull leave in the summer, so mid-table is fine for me.....

I said 12th at the start of the season and I dont think that will be far wrong , however a good January window and you never know

Said double promotion last season then said no chance earlier this season now more optimistc but optimism being the operative word

With some backing for BBM in January yes.

Re: Play offs anyone

No I don't think our problems have gone away, today's game was similar to pretty much every other home game played well enough to win comfortably, missed loads of chances and if not for a brilliant save by Trott at the end we'd have gifted Birmingham a point. I'm incredibly optimistic that if BBM gets a window where he's decently backed we can have a real go but I don't think it'll be this season

I thought Willock did well when he come on today. Frustrating player, but most wingers are!

why not top spot after a win today  with the right backing BBM could do it in my opinion but that won't be here :bluescarf:

We need to win away before we can consider that.

We are 2 or 3 players better than what we already have away I believe. Yesterday was an example. We should have put Birmingham to the sword before they had a chance at the end to equalise, which luckily they didn't. Basically need more goals for chances we create. Very happy with how our squad is developing though and enjoy watching the football these days.

I tend to agree with this, but I’ve seen signs in recent weeks that BBM is getting his squad believing in themselves, and I see us progressing nicely

I think good things are ahead, maybe just not play/offs this season, but I’d love to be proven wrong! :bluebird: :ayatollah:

Play offs.....no!

Re: Play offs anyone

Sun Oct 25, 2026 2:25 pm

People say no but only 6 points outside top 8 despite no wins away from home! Our performances against good teams shows we are more than capable of going away and win at any club.... some clubs start fast others slow but invariably rolls get reversed! We started slow so expect to pick up more points than we drop and good starting teams will drop more than they win over the next 6 or so games..... where we are after Xmas will show if playoffs are realistic or a season to soon?

This league is bonkers. Ive seen enough so know we will take some scalps but also have tricky run of poor results.

50 points is still the goal for me. BBM given the same trust in Jan and build on what he's doing.

I just hope the fanbase stick with the manager and team when it gets tough; because it will get tough.

Our league position is totally false. We started the season with four centre halves injured, forcing full backs to play out of position across the entire backline.

You can see the massive improvement as players return, even with three still out yesterday. When the whole squad is back and available, we will be a completely different animal, especially with our options up front and strikers who can actually score goals.

Firmly agree with this. Like I've said, I believe we're a mid table team. I couldn't understand why before the season some were so sure we'd be relegated, I just don't see it happening.

There will be plenty of ups and downs over the season. So as fans we should try to keep level heads.

That means people like me won't be talking about play-offs on the good days and relegation on the bad days.

We are building something but I never thought we'd be going into our first season back at this level with an ambition of the play-offs - I doubt even Tan expects that.

Hence the slow start it will get more consistent and we will pick up away wins as well as home wins...... time will tell if we are consistent enough to be challenging top 8 .

We are good enough with our top 18 or so players, but five or six injuries and we could stay in the bottom half.

Between seventh and twelfth is where I think we should be with a bit of luck with injuries.
