TODAY CARDIFF SHOWED THEY CAN REALLY COMPETE WITH ONE OF THE TOP SIDES AND BEAT BIRMINGHAM CITY, EVEN THOUGH THE SCORELINE WAS ONLY 1 NIL, THEY ACTUALLY FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE GAME OUTPLAYED THEM.

CARDIFF HAD A PENALTY SAVED IN THE 22 MIN , TERRIBLE SHOT BY SALECH.

JOEL COLWILL OUTSTADING , EVERYWHERE.

Brum only 1 defeat in their last 9 games

The Weather definitely playing a part. Utterly horrendous conditions, blowing a gale and hammering with rain. No good for either side.

CARDIFF CITY 52% BRUM 48%

CARDIFF SHOTS ON TARGET 4 BRUM SHOTS ON TARGET 2

FIRST-HALF: Cardiff deserved their lead, 3 shots on target to Birminghams 0

After 20 mins gone NO Shots from either Side

22nd min Awful penalty by Salech, SAVED! Yousef Salech hits low to James Beadle's right and the keeper dives and saves well.

32 mins SALECH GOAL! Cardiff City 1-0 Birmingham City GOOOOOAL! Salech redeems himself! Excellent turn and shot.

Cardiff played good football and the defence was solid.

A good half and deserved the lead.

SECOND-HALF:

49min Ashford had a great chance but never hit the ball hard enough.

51mins Another big chance! Alex Robertson with a pinpoint free-kick and Will Fish turns it back into danger. Salech pokes towards goal but it's blocked!

56mins Just wide by Salech

64 mins Triple change for Brum with Marvin Ducksch, Max Bird and Patrick Roberts coming on.

66mins Moylan to Ashford, yet again a very soft shot from Ashford.

67 mins Ronan Kpakio on for Calum Scanlon.

Chris Willock on for Ollie Tanner.

69mins Salechs header just wide

71mins Huge block from Will Fish to stop a dangerous Stansfield shot!

Bagan booked. brought down Patrick Roberts.

Chance! Huge chance for the visitors as a cross is whipped across the face of goal and Ducksch throws himself at it. He just needs to steer it on target - but heads wide!

87 mins Jack Moylan off and David Turnbull on.

What a save!

Will Fish's defensive header falls to Gray. He has only Trott to beat and the keeper has to guess before the Blues man shoots from 10 yards out. He takes a punt and dives to his right - saves!

What an incredible piece of goalkeeping.

Cardiff have now missed 2 penalties since Moylan scored one against Watford. Weird he's not on them?

Cardiff are undefeated at Home

What a save from Trott in the last minutes!!!!!!!!!!!

Great win in awful weather and should of been a few more goals today Vs Brum. Alot of easier missis in my opinion today and a few greedy players but a wins a win. I f*cking knew we could beat them

Very happy today Bluebirds

Absolutely delighted with the win! Big plaudits to the players and staff not letting manager touchline bans and Bielik withdrawal bother them!

Thats more like it ! This is what this young squad are capable of ! They battled hard to the end against a very good Brummie team. Thoroughly deserved the win but it should have been a lot more comfortable than this. [ Salech penalty miss and a few squandered chances ] ...... BUT A WIN AND 3 MORE POINTS !!!

We are starting to find our rhythm yes we will have the odd off day but were heading in the right direction and should only get stronger, maybe that top 8 bet i put on for a bit of fun in july might not be that far fetched although im still looking for a top 12-15 finish

The clean sheet is a massive plus for me.

Great performances all over the pitch today.

Well done to all concerned, including the ground staff for the pitch playing so well.

Also big thanks to the brum fans that minute silence was impeccable

Agree about the Birmingham fans, you could have heard a pin drop for the whole minute.

Brian Barry-Murphy says Cardiff will have "new plan" for penalties next game.

Jack Moylan could take over after Chris Willock and Yousef Salech (3 from 3 before today) missed last two spot-kicks

Sky Sports : Home is where the points are

@CardiffCityFC are unbeaten in their last 10 home games

Picking up maximum points in their last three at Cardiff City Stadium

Obviously delighted with the win. Tbh it was a game I didn't expect much from, but we totally outplayed Birmingham and deserved victory. The only frustrating thing is, we need to put teams to the sword when on top as we could have easily dropped 2 points at the end of the game, Birmingham should have scored that opportunity, which would have been totally undeserved. Was worth getting totally soaked through for in the end. Bluebirds!
