“ He donned the Captain’s Arm Band “

“ CAPTAIN ROBERTSON “

Been some turnaround for the midfielder, who a year ago wasn't even in the squad.

He donned the captain's arm band at Middlesbrough, having been one of the most consistent performers in a Bluebirds shirt this season

Alex Robertson:

"I think that’s my first professional game as a captain, so it's a really proud moment for me!

"The boys have really helped me; I’ve got really good leaders behind me like Osh and Krystian, which made it pretty easy.

"But, the main thing was to get a result, which we did."

He's done well overall this season, but turning his back on their shot for the second goal was disgraceful.

If you're captain, you must lead by example by putting your body on the line, but this isn't Robertson's game. He's not a natural holding midfielder.

Our captain should not be turning away from shots to allow opponents to score, but this is one of several reasons why we keep conceding soft goals.

I think using the word disgraceful is a little bit harsh, as you say he's not naturally a number six and is learning that role. I do think he's getting better and better at it as the weeks go on, but you're right to point out there are things he can improve on still.

He also made a goal saving block in the first half to be fair.

I said on another thread that he tends to do better when he has Joel Colwill playing alongside him and I don't think it was right to bring Turnbull on, unless Joel had a knock.
