TODAY CARDIFF FROM A SOLID DEFENCE TO COLLAPSING/ BUT A GREAT AWAY POINT

BORO 34 SHOTS CARDIFF 7 SHOTS

Yet again Jack Moylan scores

TODAY CARDIFF TOOK ON HIGH FLYING MIDDLESBROUGH

Osho sent off in 83min.

Its the first time a club has had more possesion than Cardiff.

I feel the sub of Joel Colwill taken off for Turnbull, was not good?

I AM MORE THAN HAPPY WITH A DRAW AWAY TODAY

You could see the difference in quality Boro had today.

There was No Robinson, Salech or Ng.
,

POSSESSION : BORO 57% CARDIFF 43%

SHOTS : BORO 34 CARDIFF 7

SHOTS ON TARGET : BORO 12 CARDIFF 3

FIRST-HALF: Cardiff worthy of their 2nil lead.Cardiff also Defended really well.

23mins A low, clinical finish at the near post! City one up! (0-1) Jack Moylan

30mins Huge penalty call! Ollie Tanner is sent through over the top by Kpakio and sends in a wicked cross.
Moylan just needs to throw himself at it but goes down under pressure from Ash Phillips. He screams for a penalty and can't believe it's not given.
Looked a penalty at first glance.

44min Cardiff with some last-ditch defending there after some sloppiness allows Boro through.
Alex Robertson then blocks an Aidan Morris shot.

45mins GOAL! Middlesbrough 0-2 Cardiff City (Tanner 45+1)
GOOOOOOOOOAL! Ollie Tanner with a stunner!

SECOND-HALF:

46mins Turnbul on for Joel Colwill
Boro also make a Sub.

It was all Boro now, really. Cardiff won't be able to withstand this all half????

GOAL! Middlesbrough 1-2 Cardiff City (Conway 58)
Goal! Tommy Conway pulls one back. That was coming.

61 mins GOAL! Middlesbrough 2-2 Cardiff City (Lankshear 61)
Goal! Will Lankshear gets his customary goal.

WAY TO EASY BOTH GOALS

64mins Will Fish replaced Willock

Boro were rampant now - Cardiff were playing so poorly after the break.

74 min Cardiff just trying to get hold of the ball at the minute.
Kpakio comes off for Calum Scanlon.

78 Isaak Davies replaced Ollie Tanner

83mins Osho sent off

I would have took a point all day long today, just feels shitty after blowing a 2 goal lead. In the grand scheme of things though it is a good point

Brilliant point for the team available. Matched a promotion favourite.

Ref decisions didn’t go in our favour today, should have been a penalty I think first half and possible red, osho for looked more a yellow for me.

But still great point.

I thought we were going to get battered today so will 100% take the point.

Great point considering. No idea why he took colwill off though. The subs made no difference really and thin at best to try change things although bagan played right back to. A good point in the end. You could see what was coming after half time but he persists on the same formation it baffles me because we could of had 3 points today :bluescarf:

Good result at end day they had the difference on the bench but feel bbm could have re enforced the defence b3f the goals as could see what was happening? Not 1st time I feel bbm as not reacted to the situation in front of him... but despite being 2 up still excellent result and shows we can easily compete with top teams..

Moylan did good again up top, it’s sometimes a thankless task.

We continued to press second half but they were easily getting through, we should have changed that up when Turnbull come on, hope it’s not an injury to Colwill that’s caused it.

I still don’t know Turnbulls strength, not sure where in our team he fits. Not enough energy to be a menacing box to box like Joel, his passing isn’t as on key as Robinson, he’s not quick and doesn’t pick up pockets of space.

Did well to get the point, I’d have taken it before the game and to be honest, other than our goals and the penalty decision we never got, we did well with the few chances we had.

Although disappointing to lose a 2 goal lead , with the amount of injuries we have and going away to who I believe are one of the top 2 teams in the league I would have ripped both arms off for a draw

Great point they were always going to come back at us in the second half. Bench vs bench tellls the story, they bring on a an estimated 20m of players on…. We bring on Isaac and Turnbull!

Absolutely take the point. We made Boro look like Man City 2nd half though. Pleased for Oli Tanner again. 1 point gained for me

If you look at our bench compared to theirs, it's a fantastic point.
They were able to bring on a USA international and the best player in the Championship!
We brought on someone who lost his man for their first goal!

Broken record, but most of the players we are carrying at the moment will be out of contract in May and are taking up a huge amount of our wage budget.

Keep this going and all of our youngsters will be another year older and stronger.

Hopefully, BBM will have the wage space and backing to really have a go with some building in Jan, putting the missing pieces in place next summer!

Great performance first half.

Shows what difference it makes to have a strong squad - Boro had the depth to batter us second half.

Note to Tan/ BBM - get some players in during the next window FFS!

Our boys need help.

Another huge positive is that we now have an alternative to Salech, with Moylan playing as the 9. And Ashford looks like he could be some player in that 10 role!!

His pass to set up Moylan’s near miss was superb, and his ability to wriggle out of tight spaces makes him ideal for a 10 position.

Delighted for Tanner as well with an excellent finish!!

You can never question his effort!

Summary of the game:

Boro show what a transfer window can do.

Bringing Lankshear on changed the game completely. Osho played first half with ease and Will made him lose his head.
Boro deserved probably all 3 points today and will look at that game as dropped points.

Cardiff Showed great character throughout with Ashford, Moylan and Tanner all looking dangerous.

Would've taken a point at start, delighted with a point at the end. :occasion5:

Garaunteed they are pissed off they didn't win game after getting 2 goals in 1st 15mins of 2nfd half! But fair play to city they fid gain some control back to halt their progress yes lived on edge but thats what can expect against team with 2...0m coming off bench! What game shows is we can compete with the better teams in league.

The difference was the benches today ,if we had been able to bring on rubin salech robbo ng Lawler I think we hold on to the win , just goes to show how much a bit of depth would help ,

however I still think bbm needs the next 2 transfer windows to ship out the high earners and bring in more of his kind of player , nice comfortable mid table finish this season and we will be cooking next season

Unfortunately bbm would not have brought them on until after they equalised? There was enough evidence before their goals to warrant putting on scanlon and another player to try to arrest their charge but he brought subs on after they scored both goals..... and this is a theme with bbm Unfortunately .

Yea unless Joel picked up a knock changing him at half time cost us badly , bbm still learning and he will make the odd mistake
