OLLIE TANNER:

"We knew we had to start quick after the weekend." Ollie began. "I think the game Watford played on Saturday, they were on the back foot, so we knew we could take advantage of a fast start. That was the message from inside, and I think we showed that on the pitch.

"We were just focused on ourselves and about putting in a good performance here. We know if we play the way we want to play and do the right things, we can hurt any team and win any game. I think that was the message, focus on ourselves and do the right things.

"We know what we can do - we've shown it tonight, and we've shown it in previous games. It's just about putting the performances together. Tonight we did, and now we've just got to take that into Saturday and the games moving forward."

Ollie continued: "Joel Bagan said that as soon as I took my touch, he knew it was going to be a goal! It's nice that he said that. I've been working on that a lot in training, and it's nice to put it into the games and show what I can do.

"The more you do it, the better you get. It’s so enjoyable to play for Brian and his staff. The way we play, it’s an absolute delight to be on the pitch. All I can say is thanks to them for setting us up like that!

"I feel like I'm in a much better place now, and I just want to take my game to the next level. I'm only going to do that by working hard and keeping my head down."

Well done Ollie.

I'm far from his biggest fan but thought he put in a bloody good shift yesterday and was a real threat with the ball going forward.

I think some of the criticism he gets is constructive and fair, some is really not fair. So was pleased for him last night, put in a good performance.

First league goal of the season is hopefully a confidence booster for him.

To be honest, I wasn't happy when I saw the starting line up and Tanner was named, but to be fair to the lad he did well last night, and hopefully that first goal of the season gives him some confidence going forward.
