A business model that plays bang average players , 100K a week, is eventually going to implode.

But how does it keep going? Many clubs running insolvent meaning not enough money to keep it viable.. any orher buisness and its gone! The other thing is the parachute payments are not being used for what originally intended for now its used to keep most of relegated squad together so getting the yo yo effect meaning clubs getting more and more financial advantage over rest of championship.

Worrying comments from the regulator, clubs up and down the EFL seem to be living on the edge. Some because they massively gambled on reaching the Premier League and didn't do it, some just struggling with day to day costs. It's why the new PL-EFL finance deal will be so important.

But then you look at a club like Man Utd. They're one of the biggest clubs in the world and I see one of their players did an interview last night claiming the manager wasn't backed in the summer - but they're over £1bn in debt.

No idea, but everything points to a collapse. Clubs are borrowing against future season ticket sales and even future transfer revenue.

Ironically for years only Aston Villa and Man United were trading profitably, in Man Utd’s case that stopped when the parasitic Glazers took over.
A club like Bournemouth, with an 11,000 capacity ground, have spent half a billion over the last 5 years. All seems insane to me. Like a massive ponzi scheme.
