WHAT BIELIK SAID

"I accept that the push was partly caused by frustration, but it was also affected by my forward momentum and my attempt to turn around and retrieve the ball as quickly as possible.

"I accept that I should not have made physical contact with the supporter, and I deeply regret doing so.

Bielik also told the commission his family had been subjected to death threats in the aftermath.

The panel described that as "regrettable and to be deplored", but said no supporting evidence had been provided during the disciplinary process.

WHY THE FA HANDED HIM A BAN

The proximity of Bielik's hand to the supporter's neck had the potential to suggest a neck grab.

The contact was made with a straight arm in the area of the supporter's neck.

His actions "clearly created the potential for a mass confrontation and could have led to a dangerous situation".

The FA had pushed for a three-match ban, but the commission settled on two matches after considering mitigating factors.

WHAT WENT IN BIELIK'S FAVOUR?

The commission noted his "flawless" disciplinary record and accepted that he had shown remorse by sending the supporter a letter of apology on September 10.

It also praised his restraint after the supporter struck him, although it said this could not lessen his responsibility for the initial contact.

Brian Barry-Murphy also provided a witness statement and character reference.

The panel gave limited credit for Bielik's guilty plea, arguing that the clear video footage had left him with little alternative but to admit the charge.

Police separately confirmed that an out-of-court disposal had been agreed between Bielik and the supporter following their investigation
