The positives

Sat Oct 10, 2026 7:21 pm

A lot of downbeat responses to today's result so worth pointing out a few positives.

Robinson got a start and a goal

Moylan put in another great performance

Blackburn commentators were praising Robertson and Trott

More minutes for Lawlor

A lot of people saying our team isn't good enough, I don't believe that. Blackburn commentators impressed by some of our players so we have a good core and don't forget we've played well in every home game.

All true positives Ned fair play

But I stand by what I said in July not enough Quality Championship players in our squad

Nine games in and one win says something

And with a favourable fixture list against very few of the better teams in the division.

We're unbeaten at home in the league and only lost one game by more than one goal.

Whereas Lincoln got trashed 3-0 today and Bolton lost at home against ten men.

The amount of points we have now doesn't matter and neither does the table. It's how it looks after 46 games and we'll be in a healthy position.

We can't just rely on Salech up top, i felt sorry for Robinson, I wanted him to smash it today, he didn't.
I think Playing Moylan up from would have been a better option.
We move on to the next game.

Re: The positives

If after 10 games on Tuesday we are in the last 3 then usually after 10 games the league has started to paint a pictu.
We have good possession good passes but we leak goals and fail to create up top more often than not .
I no bbm says we dont players in.just to fill spot fair enough.
We let one of our best players go wintle player of the season and haven't even replaced him .
The league doesn't lie points matter nothing else and thats all you can look at.
At the moment we aint good enough and in a relegation battle long way to go that can change of course and hopefully it does .
We dont have enough quality at present in the squad .
Battle on.until January then they have to have a plan to bring players in to strengthen the squad or its gonna be a long hard season for us .
You can usually tell after ten games and if we loose again Tuesday we are already in the thick of it this early and as we no its hard to get out of it once your in it .
We can still pull away but we have to win against Watford its up to the manager and players if you think your good enough no excuses go get 3 points and get going in this league.
Lets hope we win Tuesday because once the rot sets in ita difficult to.cure

So not many positives then

I seen two moylan putting in a shift and Robinson scoring off his pass that's about it although the usually sideways, backwards and down the touchline football and repeat that's a norm under bbm he will not do anything different. Apart from that i seen nothing else. We created f**k all on target bar the goal really for there keeper to make a good save, let's be honest. On to Watford now and three points are a must or we will sink lower :bluescarf:

I'll probably get slated for this but in the interest of balance to Worcester's post I'll counter with a few negatives.

7 points from a possible 27
Only played 2 of the current top 10 (P2 D1L1)
Out of relegation places only on goal difference
No clean sheets in 9 games.
Averaging almost two goals conceded per game
No depth to squad - keepers and youngsters on bench
1 point from 15 away from home

I know it's much easier to criticise than be positive and I admire Worcester's ability to see the positives and of course he's absolutely right in what he says - there are some positives but ultimately all that matters are points on the board and at the moment there's little to be positive about.

Now, in the recent past, teams have gone on long winning runs in the Championship but that usually comes after a change of manager - indeed we did when Warnock first came in after Trollope.

But at the moment it's difficult to see anything other than a season long struggle against relegation.

I apologise for bringing the negativity to this thread!

No need to apologise. They are facts. And there’s no point burying our heads in the sand hoping things will just sort themselves out. They may well do when we play the better teams. Who know.

But great post David’s.

Its called reality and a lot new what was going to happen without quality additions whoever fault it was for not doing so.

Yesterday was piss poor but your arguing for us to change our style because we didn't create anything yesterday up until yesterday we'd created more chances than everyone else in the division, tweak it yes no reason to completely change our style.

You're obviously entitled to your opinion. I respect people's criticisms up to the point where they say the manager should go, I don't respect the opinion of those who say that.

The reason I started this thread though was because there are plenty of critical posts and just thought I'd point out the (admittedly few) positives from yesterday.

BMM needs to set up the team against Watford which will be hard to beat. So many times away this season too many players forward and they lose the ball and it is usually the goalie or 1 defender to try to stop the goal. A clean sheet is what we need. Pack midfield, don't play 2 wingers.

We can bury our heads in the sand as much as we want to , so far this season it’s simply not working so something needs to change , maybe formation or personnel on the field but nothing ever changes , same team same tactics same results .

Who cares about respect off other posters . Some posters take longer to process what’s going on .

Good banter and strong views on both sides of this debate.
I thought after the Charlton game we would hopefully kick on and get a decent result against one of the less talented teams in the Championship, but we put on one of our worst performances and were 2nd best throughout the game and got our just deserts.
Watford Tuesday as we would all agree is a must win game, anything less and a lot of us will start getting twitchy.
A few more fans will get the positive vibes with a decent win as it would be 2 wins from 3 games, fingers crossed we get that win.

We dont need to change anything at home , wrexham apart weve battered everyone else just our inability to finish has cost us , now away from home is where bbm needs to tweak things and set us up with 2 holding midfielders instead of 1 to give us a bit more of a solid spine

Indeed. Some doubted BBM from day one, said we'd struggle last season and were calling him stupid names names like tinkerman this time last year.

I'm really not making this up, but BMM Cement IS actually one of the biggest cement manufacturers and distributors in the world.

Really - no shit, google it.

Your typo and my campaign to have BBM recognised as a certified Cementhead are fully in tune.

This is so cosmic, I might begin to call our grey powdery leader BMM from now on.

Plus, no way will he do any of those things you mention above, so pretty sure I'll still be calling him it tomorrow too.

It’s BMM Cement, not BBM Cement, so where’s the link?
