Ryan Wintle

As some think Wintle is the new Rodri, always good to check on how he's doing at MK Dons:

Lost 5-1 at home

5.7 rating

What a huge miss he is to us.

He found a manager, system, and players that suited his skill set. No idea why he was jettisoned, but some of our proper stonking last season was when Robertson was the 6.

I have always thought BBM was determined to play Robertson at 6 this season, so he let Wintle leave to stop that noise. BBM makes the decision, and it seemed mad, but we all assumed that he had a replacement lined up, not the guy who didn't look a 6 in L1

Plenty of Championship teams play a similar way to us in terms of possession based.

Why didn't they offer the world beater a contract?

I agree on that point; the market never lies. 29 years old, no sell-on value, elevated salary demand; maybe a bit of ""a character to boot.

However i doubt many championships are looking at 23-year-old Robertson as their answer to 6 either. I think BBM was right to try if he thinks he can make him one.....I await to see what happens

The system suited him perfectly and no other teams aren't doing exactly what we are doing we lead the league in lots of stats despite being down the bottom that should tell you BBM has quite an extreme style. I don't buy for a second BBM fancied Robertson at 6. Wintle played when available, he could have stuck with Robertson last year. He clearly thought we'd be having a player in and it didn't happen

I still don't understand what the point is in referring to the summer window?

It's gone, we don't need to constantly be talking about it. It's not like we can change it.

But you saw a point in referring to wintle?
He’s gone no need to keep going on. Double standards again by you Worcester.

Yeah because others seem so desperate to refer to him, as the OP says.

Maybe you should read it again if it isn't past your bedtime.

Calm down. You throwing insults again, mild yes but says a lot about you.

You are the opening poster aren’t you Worcester?
Maybe I am missing the point somewhere, happy to be corrected.

The point is you seem to think that BBM pegged Robertson as an upgrade on Wintle, I totally disagree I think he'd have blooded him in last year. It's plugging a hole. I don't think Wintle will get you very far in the championship but he's a much better player in that spot in this team.... It's not the manager knows best, it's the manager got sold a bill of goods by our owner

I just hope bielik slots into the 6 away from home with Robertson next to him , you can get away with the single pivot at home but has to be a double pivot away or we will get beat most away games

For me you can't even compare wintle to Robertson in that position two totally different players. Wintle is better defensively in positioning by far for me. Although Robertson coves more ground but as BBM stated he shouldn't be if he's in the right positions in an interview. To compare them to two different systems of playing between where he's gone to here is worlds apart in truth so you can't even compare in my opinion.

You’re right mate. If he positions himself correctly at the start of the interview he shouldn’t have to move at all. lol. ;)

Also his 'career best' for Blackpool was 18 appearances. He is not championship standard. His loan at Milwall was minutes.

Double also :laughing6: for the 51st time, no-one bringing him up weekly is answering this... he was on a free, why wasn't he linked with a single Championship club? I dont even think he was linked to a top 6 L1 club?
