CCST, alongside other supporter groups, met with Cardiff City Football Club leadership today, including Chairman Mehmet Dalman, CEO Ken Choo and several departmental heads. Below is a concise summary of the key points discussed and the Club’s responses.
Transfer Window
The Club reiterated the manager’s comments following the QPR defeat. The Club stated they are working in full alignment with the manager and trust him to make final decisions on targets. They believe their recruitment process is more streamlined than many of their competitors, but on this occasion the players identified were simply not available or deliverable. Patrick Deboys, Head of Recruitment confirmed significant work is already underway for the January window.
Long-Term Strategy
The Club maintain that a robust long-term strategy is in place. However, due to the competitive nature of the industry, they do not intend to share detailed elements of that strategy outside the organisation.
Communications
The Club accepted the request for broader communication from senior leadership and have committed to quarterly calls with supporters, allowing issues and questions to be raised directly. These will be arranged on an ad hoc basis rather than through formal club channels, with further information to follow.
They do not plan to introduce quarterly newsletters, video updates or similar direct communications from senior leaders, and advised that communication from the Owner remains unlikely.
The Club believe their overall fan engagement already exceeds that of many other clubs, citing FAB meetings, sessions like this one, SLO activity and the Fans’ Parliament. Additional supporter-focused initiatives are planned.
Museum
The Club confirmed that the museum project is progressing, though no further detail was provided at this stage.
