The FAW CEO has spoken highly of Bluebirds boss and compatriot Brian Barry-Murphy, believing his ethos of developing talent from within has added huge value to the club.



“We spoke about Brian Barry-Murphy, about developing young players.



"What clubs want now is not just the coach to come in and get results, they want a coach who creates value. Because the amount of money in football nowadays is growing and growing. The amount of losses in the Championship is growing as well.


“So you want a coach who creates value, like Brian is doing at Cardiff City.


"He is developing young players, creating young value in young players like Dylan Lawlor, who has come through the academy, what is he worth now?

BBM will end up making Tan a lot of money because the value of our young players has increased so much.

Sadly I doubt it will be reinvested in the club though, which it should be.

Until BBM is poached by a bigger fish. And the value drops again as tan won't sell and won't invest to keep BBM with us

Unfortunately you're right

The issue could be that when/if BBM goes, Tan will hold a ‘fire sale’ of our young talent

Sadly, it’s my opinion that he (Tan) is now only interested in recouping his (substantial) losses to ‘save face’, and if the BBM ‘project’ works, that’s great; but if it doesn’t, he won’t get another manager who will glean the same results on the budget he (doesn’t) have

Our main focus should be building a team to win though and some of our youngsters can do with some experienced leaders to learn from. This is why our transfer window was a complete disaster. Our transfer committee doesn't have a clue.

I would still rather 11 players in their 30's on the pitch who have the experience, leadership and know how to win games and push for promotion, than an inexperienced team dropping points as we're still learning at this level.

Because it works great on FM26 I would presume.

Increasing value of players is great but suggesting tan will sell them at some point to recoup his losses is a bit outlandish! Sell like of lawlor Colwill ect and yes make 60m at best for the 5 or 6 youngsters but he still needs to address replacements and fact it will devalue club again? So he gains nothing in reality.... all can say is tan is dicing with the clubs future more and more and we are in danger of losing bbm and all the problems that will bring! he will never recoup the 150m or whatever he wants even if get to premier league?

Classic example of this policy was Swansea sold off all their best players on a regular basis for massive profits but it cost them relegation from Premier League instead of building on what they this has carried on in championship and they've done nothing since relegation!
They had decent team and should have pushed on but failed to do so ..... just like we should have done this season but we failed to strengthen enough to push for top 8...... like said if not careful tan could shoot himself in foot and cost himself £100m in the end and city's stability for maybe yrs to come! Just what goes on in his mind even fraud would have trouble working it out.
