Cardiff City defender Jesper Daland has joined Norwegian side Viking FK on loan until the end of January 2027.

On good money and cost us abit so only reason he gets shipped out in my opinion as he's wanted clearlyelsewhere although city are probably still paying something it wouldn't suprise me. If BBM had the chance he probably keep him but out of his hands I feel.

I'm going to defend Daland a bit here.

I'm not sure that he's really been given a proper chance at Cardiff. Yes he's made mistakes but no more than Osho has made and Daland's mistakes were made at Championship level whereas Osho made mistakes in League 1.

Daland has been out on loan all of last season and was given no chance this summer to impress the manager before being sent out on loan again. He didn't even get a runout in a preseason game. How can the manager truly appraise him without seeing him play?

There was a suggestion that before he went on loan he was sent to train with the youngsters - why would you do that to a professional footballer who's good enough to play in the Champions League? Now he may be a disruptive or divisive person in the dressing room but has anybody heard anything like that? I certainly haven't.

Knowing the injury crisis at centre half the club were willing to let him go, play two full backs at centre half instead of keeping him as cover and then sign Bielik to cover his position and put a 15 year old on the bench!

It all seems a bit strange to me. I'd certainly prefer him at centre half to Bagan, Ng or even Chambers.

I agree with 99% of what you're saying but I do take issue with this "good enough to play in the Champions League" bullshit that I keep seeing written about various players. Just because someone has played in the Champions League it doesn't mean that they're any good, or everyone would be rushing to sign players from all of the shit teams that are there because of no other reason than they won a league/cup competition in their country. And let's be honest here, there really are some crap teams in some of these countries & just playing in the Champions League/Europe means nothing to most of them except a few $s.

I remember one of BBM first interviews when he comes here he got asked about him and he said he had no idea he's on his way out on loan as he got here so that tells me it was yet another cost cutting exercise irrelevant of a new manager or not. Now when your playing two full backs at center half a few weeks back and we got another center half who was here but was being tossed out for yet another season on loan that should tell us all what's gone and and going on within the club regarding money even if the manager wanted a look , he doesn't have any on this one ,
