Salech

I think this is a hugely unfair position for him to be in.

Most functional clubs would have another striker who could come in if the main striker’s confidence/form drops, but we don’t have that luxury and now every other game he doesn’t get his goal his confidence is going to get even worse

I think this is the most reasonable Salech post I've ever seen on here. Clearly a player in there. I think he's asked to do a thankless task for the most part, he's clearly in a rut and needs to be rotated but we haven't got anyone to do it

He’s been brilliant for 18 months here and he’s had his first rough patch of 4 games and people are already on his back calling him shit etc.

It happens to all strikers, Haaland had a rough patch at Man City and was rotated out of the starting 11, we can’t do that here and it just puts an even bigger microscope on him

He’s certainly not ‘shit’ but he has had a drop in form, not helped by some pretty poor and telegraphed crosses, and his own inability to get into the box in the right places

He’ll learn and improve further, given time :ayatollah:

He's never going to have much luck with crosses in this team, it's not designed in anyway for him to score a load of headers. He's there to keep centre halves busy and the criticisms of him being in the wrong places are over blown Tanner has had 3 amazing chances in the last two games at the back post because of Salech dragging centre halves with him, that's what his job is in this team not to be a 20 plus goal striker, you've got to move the ball a hell of a lot faster if you want him to do that

It happens to all strikers, just most of them have the luxury of being rotated out when it gets too bad to relieve the pressure on them

I thought he played well tonight apart from the chance he put wide.

I thought he was a lot better tonight.. 2nd half anyway.. much better movement.. just didn't get a break.. play like that again and his luck will turn

Don’t disagree with that, but he could do much better in some areas; positioning fit crosses is one of them. His ‘menace’ to the opposition is undoubtedly, as I have stated previously :ayatollah:

He looked well off it for all this season but the last 15 mins something seemed to click, and he found himself in space. Not worried by the misses; he wasn't near them to miss for the first 4.5 games

Spot on, he's finally getting chances; one flukey one in off his arse or knee and he will be away and scoring again.

We hit the post three times; we were unlucky and should have won.

Agree with you - Been saying this for the last few weeks when - No Back up striker came in .

Robinson should.be brought on and now I think start match. Salech needs to be taken out for for next two games

Robbo has had a few chances and been worse; BBM knows what he's doing it looked like Salech was going to get a goal and when he does more will follow, so he gave him more time.

He's not good enough and doesn't backtrack well enough, Salech is doing a job for the team, he needs a bit of luck any flukey goal and we wil be away.

Bbm gets to see them both in training every day , he obviously believes salechs all round game benefits the team more than robbo,s , we have to trust bbm knows whats best

IT isnt just the goals , he dont hold the ball up, he dont run the channels , he dont win many balls in the air for a big lad
he has looked completely lost in this league so far even his easy tap ins have dried up

I'm with you on all that.

His performance in the last 30 mins against Portsmouth and his performance last night is however an improvement on the first 4 league games but a long way to go before I'll agree that he is a championship player.

Those saying he's in an awkward position because we don't have a replacement, we have Robinson, Ashford and Moylan that can all play striker, in fact after last night's performance from Joel C maybe playing an attacking midfielder up front could be the answer. It worked with Kellyman last season. We do have options
