Cardiff are currently ranked among the Top 20 academies in the country for productivity. In simple terms, that measures the number of academy players who go on to become professional footballers across the Premier League, Championship, League One and League Two.
We currently sit 16th — and we’re the only Category Two academy in the Top 20.
A huge congratulations to all the staff, parents and, most importantly, the players who are making their mark. It’s a fantastic achievement and a real credit to everyone involved in the academy.
And a massive well done to BBM for being prepared to give these young players their opportunity. Giving homegrown talent meaningful first-team minutes takes courage, particularly when results ultimately determine a manager’s future.
