BBM Says: it’s a very tough schedule , We knew the games

Mon Sep 07, 2026 1:14 pm

BBM:

"It's a very tough schedule."

Tues, Sept 8 (7.45pm) Cardiff City v Stoke City

Sky 12:30pm Sat, Sept 12 Bolton Wanderers v Cardiff City

Sky 12:30pm Sat, Sept 19 Cardiff City v Charlton Athletic

"It's a very tough schedule."

“We knew the games were very close together in this opening period. With the squad the size of ours, that has its challenges, but we'll try to play really well in our home stadium, and try to win.”

"We have to remain calm. I wouldn't get too carried away by where we are; it's very early in the season. We've worked together for a period with a lot of these players, so that's a real benefit - we know how we work. We have to improve, and that will remain the case.

"We were backed incredibly on Wednesday night at an extreme cost to our supporters. To come to Portsmouth in such numbers again, the support is incredible, and we don't take that for granted. I can't thank them enough for what they've done, but we know that our job is to win."

Brian provided an injury update ahead of the game, after Isaak Davies missed out on Saturday's match at Fratton Park.

"Isaak wasn't fit - he felt his hamstring in training on Friday, so I imagine he won't be available for Tuesday. The rest of the guys are back around the international break, so I don't imagine anything will change between now and Tuesday.

"The players who are here will have our full backing, our full support to try and help them produce a performance that gives us a chance to win. We're very confident that we can win games at this level, and I'm sure we will."

Same for every team in the division.

Three more games in the next few weeks before a break.

Players looked knackered on Saturday yet very little opportunity to freshen up the team over the next ten days.

Need 7 points before the break - tougher games to come next month.

David,

Exactly same for every club.

I hope these are not excuses already.

Stoke, Bolton and Charlton are all Clubs we can beat.

He’s known all this for 2 mths and yes tougher teams ahead.

I am expecting to lose on Tuesday night, I hope we get a draw minimum but losses will just dampen morale, players didnt seem happy on Saturday and were bullied for the whole game and surprisingly for me Marlon Pack was the boss and how he never got booked is beyond. I didnt see one crunching tackle from us, Bagan was probably the one most getting stuck in. Stoke will bully us again :bluebird:

Correct Monty,

Their Hierarchy have made us doom and gloom and fans now are only talking about if we can stay up or are going down, this is very very sad.

The Hierarchy can take a lot of the blame for this and BBM has not helped with saying he’s happy with a Small Squad and has been fully backed but days after starts saying it’s tough for his small squad.

I agree bbm said get wanted a small squad but I think a small squad of quality he wanted wintle kellyman not replaced, issac davies turnbull to name but 2 are not top quality sadly,
he has sh.gged himself with this small squad he only has the academy to call on now eli king has gone is mafico better from the academy? None from the academy are ready.

Yeah, Pack should have had a yellow for that foul within the first few minutes.

As I posted after the Sheff Utd game - Our next 5 games were against Clubs who were predicted to be in the bottom half -
Of the season which included ourselves - " Though Schedule " - Prefer " No Easy Games In The Championship " ;)
