What a miserable season

Sat Sep 05, 2026 4:13 pm

This is turning in to. All the positivity of last year has gone within one month. Sadly we are completely unprepared for this league. Gulf between League One and Championship is not much smaller than Championship to Premier League. Today I thought we would have a chance against one of the few teams that i thought might be as bad as us. They were so much more streetwise. There are not 3 clubs worse than us in this League, Preston maybe but that's it.

I would say it's gone in 1 week as most were positive last Saturday. The last 2 days of the non transfer market & 2 losses in 4 days have put paid to that.

You are right buddy, I was upbeat last week, I thought we could be competitive, but not convinced now sadly.

Get a grip. It's 5 games not 25. Its been a horrible week and things are not right but saying we are relegated after 5 games is nonsense. I think our destiny is clearly going to be in the bottom half but calm heads are needed now especially BBM. Our home form is key to staying up so lets see how we go on Tuesday. We need Lawlor and Chambers back. The defence must improve.

After the Sheffield game i was optimistic that if we got a few in we might even sneak into the top 8 and get a play off spot

But then when we had the news that we weren't signing anymore players i just shook my head in disbelief

This squad is not big enough and needs a few championship quality additions but apparently we couldn't find anyone good enough :banghead:

Don’t fret on what might have been; get firmly behind your team and let them know it! :ayatollah:

Clearly, we’re disappointed at today’s result, and Stoke’s bloody good win v (previously high flying) Charlton, doesn’t bode too well for our next game, which is up there. However, we have the talent to cause any team issues on our day, so BBM’s challenge is to get that happening more often and consistently

So far, from what I’ve seen, we need to tighten up in midfield, and (not knocking Robertson the player) get someone in the ‘6’ position who can do the job required

Equally, I didn’t expect too much from us this season, particularly without the additions we thought might come, but the players who remain are capable of keeping us up; they just need to realise it! :ayatollah:
