I didn't realize Sky was now owned by Comcast, I missed that takeover. The problem is that a few huge conglomerates are going to own everything eventually & there's not much we can do about it at the moment.

At the end of the day I think that the Hugh Jackman's of this world will be better owners than some of the owners we have now so it's not really a big deal, as it won't be them that change the game we know now but the people with way more money than them.

But i read earlier that he wanted to buy shares in Norwich back in 2010 and he said he quickly realised it was a bad idea

So i think he's doing it now because he's seen what R and R have done with Wrexham
My worry is there could be many more over the next few years and that's where we start to see Hollywood poking their noses in even more

The Saudis have already tried to get premier league games played abroad but luckily the prem have stood their ground but I can see America trying it soon and I'm not confident the prem/efl will tell them no

If the Saudis couldn't do it I can't see Hollywood having any effect at all. I don't even understand why everyone gets hooked up on "Hollywood" like it's some huge thing interested in taking over U.K. football when it is just a suburb in L.A. that makes (or made in some cases) movies & tv programs.

Of the 3 people we've talked about 2 of them didn't even grow up in the USA never mind L.A., they're Canadian & Australian and the other one grew up in Philadelphia which is a little like growing up in Manchester & is a big sports city.

The ideal would be a rich local with a strong connection to the team. However that ship has long since sailed. Football was the last bastion of community spirit, that’s no longer the case with the Premier League, it’s a tourist league and that’s suits rich foreign owners just fine.
