Would you want to be promoted under Tan?

Thu Sep 03, 2026 6:26 pm

I know we’ve been promoted previously under Tan, more so when he was probably more interested in the club, but would you want to go up again under Tan?

We haven’t been back properly for years, and for promoted teams to stand a chance these days, you need to be spending well over £100 million, imo, which I don’t think Tan would ever do.

We’re a long, long way from ever being promoted, but I think if it happened again under Tan, it could be pretty embarrassing, as we’d hardly spend a penny.

No matter who our owner is I'll always want cardiff to be competing in the top division, unfortunately I doubt we'll see that again until the dictator leaves

Yes - If he played his part by backing and trusting the manager he put in place

It’s happened three times (twice to the Premier League) under him, and no one (who stayed) complained then, so why should they now? :?

This ‘issue’ with Vincent Tan is not about promotion, it’s about the way the club is run, and his reneging on ‘promises’ to make us ‘debt-free’ and ‘in a better position’ when he leaves

Neither look close on current evidence, and nor does another stint in the Premier League, so it’s not a big concern right now; although genuine Bluebirds will live in hope (of another promotion)! :ayatollah:

I will always want City to be up there on the biggest stage but I do understand the question asked

We cant predict the future but if we were to go up I cant see us spending an awful lot - certainly not what Hull & Ipswich are chucking around.

We could find ourselves with a small squad - not a lot of signings, the same players as we had in the Championship (maybe L1  ) and a deflated fan base who have realise that we'd 99.9% come back down. Although we would give it a go, I dont think we would pick up many wins so the season would be long and with not a lot to cheer about

Thats all very negative I know - we could be surprised with what happens if we did go up :D

No offence but it seems a silly question.

You play and watch sport to play and watch at the highest level you can.

I always want to watch my team play at the highest level - preferably the Premier League and Champions League

 One day!!
