AMBITION?

Tue Sep 01, 2026 5:56 pm

Nothing has been said from above ,
we get promoted feelgood factor is there togetherness lets do a Sunderland ipswich wrexham and push on,
no let's consolidate and our ambition for the season is to not get relegated, that is really going to get these turnstile 's moving.

I guess a lot of pro footballers will also look at which team has the ambition and it will be the team club that is investing and looking to push for promotion they will want to be at.

We have not heard a peep out of our owners on any ambition for the season ahead,
its as if they don' t Exist , i am dumbfounded that our owners have not grasped this feel good factor and really pushed the boat out behind BBM

I think BBM knew he wouldnt get backing. I think he's seen the light. BBM cant defend The Dictator or ChooChoo anymore.

Zero ambition. Leave the club.

Ive never known such a lethargic, incompetent bunch of so called 'know it alls! at our club.

TAN/CHOO OUT!

I despair if we get nothing,
what an opportunity we have after promotion to push on but total silence from above.

It's absolutly shocking we should be filling the stadium with the feel good factor but this will effect the attendances I fear.

So easy to blame the board and say it was all down to money. Maybe we tried to compete for the cream of premier league loans and they simply didnt want Cardiff? Money may not be the issue but totally unrealistic targets and poor strategy. BBM may also be heavily to blame as he wanted certain targets or even turned down certain players.

Monty it will depend on performances if crowds go down? But this was a great opportunity to push on as I eluded yo earlier we are doing the opposite to what clubs normally do we have decent squad with little bit extra we would push on instead we stagnate which is very short sighted by the club whilst blame can be directed at the board we really need to see what part bbmas played in lack of sighnings given his comments throughout this window

Re: AMBITION?

BBM HAS GOT HIS HEAD SCREWED ON HE NOWS IF HE CAN KEEP THIS YOUNG TEAM UP THEN ITS GOOD ON HIS BEHALF HE MAY THEN GET A CHANCE OF TAKING ON THE NEXT CHAPTER OF HIS CAREER WITH A CLUB WITH BIGGER AMBITIONS

Re: AMBITION?

Tue Sep 01, 2026 6:18 pm

Make no mistake.

Vincent Tan will be expecting this club to be challenging for promotion this season.

He has seen us get promoted from League 1 on a shoestring budget.

He'll expect the manager to do the same this season.

He won't be happy when it doesn't happen.

This is my take on things? Bbm did say had targets in mind but did he have plan B in case didn't get 1st choice? Took forever to get the 3 we got even though he said targeted one for ages! Whatever the reasons no more sighnings would be very disappointing

Re: AMBITION?

Tan was very lucky finding BBM, finding his replacement is going to be nigh on impossible. Back to Riza/Bulut type "yes men"

Its also easy for you to blame everything you listed.

I think Tan is looking to sell the club we've cut the wages bill to the bone. The top three earners (I'm guessing) Chambers, Robbo and Turnbull will be gone next summer. The rest of the squad are generally young players with high potential return. It's what you'd do if you wanted to sell a business and it's not how he's operated up to this point

Re: AMBITION?

It wouldn't be half as bad if someone had come out and said there is no funds and this season survival is the ultimate aim but we dont hear a peep off them at all

TAN OUT

Tue Sep 01, 2026 6:25 pm

Its so sad that I am posting this after such an amazing year last year and also so early into what could be a promising season.

The post wont sit well with some, but I say it as I see it, and recognise opinions. This is mine.

Firstly rumours are rumours I get that. These 'rumours' however have persisted for a long time, and the club has done nothing to suggest the rumours are not true. My take? Theres no smoke without fire and its been hanging round the club like a bad smell for years.

The last, I dont know how many transfer windows have left supporters demoralised.

Even online outlets who usually dont criticise Tan and Choo are calling this window 'disgraceful'.

Glen Williams is struggling to comprehend the owners actions.

The owner never attends games, it is rumoured heavily that, and I quote from an online outlet (since deleted) that it is terrible that the CEO is forcing players on BBM rarher than try and get the playrrs BBM has identified.

Had we not had an injury crisis we would not have seen Scanlon or Bielik.

Scanlon, as good a player as he is, for me is a lazy signing by the board brought about by an outcry from supporters over lack of cover.

How much ambition is the board showing?

Rumours of £7m bids for Hjerto Dahl must have come from somewhere. Glen Williams picked it up, but one wonders what the club fed him to keep supporters happy.

Tan has not shown that he wants the club to succeed with his lack of action or ambition.

Our cousins out West are pouring quality into their team as we look on with owners who dont care.

Tan keeps the club alive?? Say it quietly, but all other Chairmen do the same thing, its comes with the territory of owner.

And yet Tan has no desire to sell, and no desire to succeed??

Ken Choo 'why buy when you can promote from within'. Says it all about his football knowledge doesnt it.

Annis mentioned elsewhere on this board that Choo had basically messed up the whole summer. Why? Because he is a part time director, who knows nothing about football, and would prefer sign a deal to sell a car than buy a player.

The junta treat us fans like idiots. Keep us in the dark and feed us s**t.

15 years he has been here. The majority has seen protest after protest. Where is the spirit of the 80's? Tan needs to be gone by hook or by crook.

He has WASTED a feelgood promotion year. Businessman? Dont make me laugh!

TAN OUT OUT OUT.......

I have disagreed with what BBM said not just tge board about keeping a small squad in the championship its a mistake but that's on his head.

But bbm has said he needs players in how clear can you be?

Well said,
Could we have had a better chance to push on with the manager the team and promotion feel good factor it's there to back, but we have no ambition future players can see that,
and consolidation is not an ambition you never move up and on if you think that way, it means staleness to me and if it's reality then it needs to be changed.

Re: AMBITION?

Tue Sep 01, 2026 6:44 pm

The ambition should be to stay up and I think we'll achieve that comfortably.

Re: AMBITION?

Tue Sep 01, 2026 6:46 pm

I'm shocked BBM hasn't got any players from Man City on loan

I thought he might of had a bit of leverage there since he has a good rep with the club

Surely there is a winger or striker in there that could do a job for us

Ned at the end of the season is would have been content we where not relegated and stayed up but at the start of the season i have some ambition to do something more than stave off relagation.

Is this your next angle you are gonna shove down everyone's throats now is it...that we'll stave off relegation comfortably.

Hardly a new angle when I've been saying it for a while.

But I know you love nothing more than having a pop at me for no reason. Speaks volumes that your only post on this thread has been to respond to what I've said in that way.

The Hierarchy have NO Ambition at all for Our Club

Re: AMBITION?

Tue Sep 01, 2026 7:13 pm

Just trying to stay in the Championship is not Ambition at all.

If we go near the relegation zone, get dragged in it, you never know , we can’t afford to.

We should be at least looking at the 8th ply off spot.

i don't think they have no ambition, but i do think they don't have a clue of what to do aside from hope. They see us do well last season and assume that because we did League 1 with kids we should just do it more in the Championship.
Business-sense-wise they are the type of guys who'd spend £10 in petrol to go and pick up a fiver
