Bielik says he'll mainly be used as a CB

"Us centre backs, we have to work hard to make sure that our offensive players have an enjoyable game and can express themselves in the final third to create chances and win the game. Our job is to defend at the back and concede less goals.

Unfortunately today it didn't work fully but I think for the fans, for the people that watched and everybody who knows a little bit about football will agree with me that we were much more dominant. So I think Sheffield were lucky today.

Different managers have different opinions on my position. I had a chat with Brian and Lee, they told me I'll be mainly centre back here but that they know I've played before as a number six.

I haven't played as a centre midfielder for a while now. Last three years I've played mainly centre back, at West Brom and Birmingham when there's been injuries I've played as a six and done OK.

But mainly centre back, if the manager needs me to play as the six then I don't mind it - I will do my best in any position, put me on the right wing and I'll do my best.

Preference for me is I prefer centre back. I always said the same that when you ask players where they prefer to play it's where they've been playing consistently. So if I played as a six for a few games then I would feel better and better, but it's not that easy to move from centre back to six and feel great because it takes a little bit of time.

The manager wants me to be very comfortable on the ball, he wants me to go between the lines and take risks. Most important thing he said to me is he doesn't care what the score is, he doesn't care about who made a mistake or whatever. He just wants us to keep doing what we're doing every day, he really believes in the way we want to play and so do the players.

We target top half of the table for sure. There are two more spots for the play-offs and I honestly believe we are more than capable to get there. It's a young team with a great manager that the players love, they will jump through fire for him. We get more clinical in the final third and we get more stable at the back, we can beat anyone in this league."

A bit surprised at this because for some reason there was an assumption (including from me) that he would move to the six role when Lawlor and Chambers are back.

But it appears he has been signed to stay at CB.

So that means BBM either plans to have Robertson/Rubin at six or to bring in another player to play there.

Yea i thought he was coming in a defensive midfielder as well so Im guessing Robertson rubin Ashford will be our main 3 in the middle for now

He'll play where needed; they will assess him in training, and due to the number of games and rotation, he could get some games in either position.


Dodgy start from a brand-new partnership, but they grew into the game and offered us extra in their box when we were attacking.

Happy with this. I don’t want a CB to fill in the 6 role on a permanent basis for the season. The number 6 role is important so I would like an actual out an out 6 signed to specialise just in that position.

I'm not happy about this at all unless it means we are bringing a 6 in I don't rate Robertson at 6 at all I thought he got overrun against Wrexham and almost single handedly cost 2 points yesterday, I actually like him as a player but not there

Shouldn't have let wintle go without a replacement in my opinion.

Maybe that will happen but I have my reservations..

He has to play CB at the moment as we have no cover - But you know what they say - Never say Never
