Referee - star rating

Rate the referee out of five stars.

I've voted 2. No complaints about the penalty but I thought he gave so many soft fouls when he could have just played on. Then he would let things go that were fouls.

I voted 4. It looks like they are letting more go than in previous seasons, and we don't help ourselves at times, but he was fair, and there weren't too many bloopers.

A 3 from me. I thought he had a good game until about 60 mins then he went down hill fast.

Zero from me. Again no compla8nts about the penalty but when tanner cut inside second half i could see the shirt pull from the grandstand. Im convinced their penalty was given for robertson pulling the shirt rather than the trip. I will rate referees on consistency. With the way we play our players are going to get foulled on a regular basis the so called toting up of consistent fouls should have seen far more yellows for our opposition in both today and the norwich game.

Unfortunately, the difference between Tanner and their player, or a J. Colwill-type player, is game intelligence.

He just doesn’t have the know-how yet to do what Colwill did to win the Wrexham free-kick.

If he goes down there, he wins us a penalty, no doubt.

Hopefully, he can develop that side of his game, along with his end product, because he has so much raw potential.
