Without going overboard this concerns me greatly. It is right to say on BBM and Tan Know whats going on, but while all this has become normal for our club, it is not typically normal in football.

We are short of players. BBM must have made proposals to the Dictator.... thats his job. To ensure the manager has a competitve and effective squad is the job of an owner.

What Im saying is I know BBM will have done his bit... but what about our absolute clown of an owner?

My opinion only but I think the clues are there and based on BBMs dangerous statement that we will have a player(s) in by today, was he pushing Tan to actually do his job like every other owner does?

Rob Phillips asked if there would be a new signing by Tuesday and he said "I'd expect so".

He said that yes, most definitely when interviewed on Saturday. I posted straight after.

I don't think it's just your opinion many of us thinking the same way.

It should be at least three extremely high quality additions which apparently you can't get earlier in the transfer window.

That's why we need to be patient for another week or so.

They should alll be match fit and ready to fit seamlessly straight into the starting eleven for the game next Wednesday at QPR.

Heard of a decent defender loan potential today; very good prospect. Permanent move fell through; two other Championship clubs are trying for him too. I reckon we could have a chance, as more or less immediate game time here, which is a factor, and a chance to keep the shirt, although we are probably juggling many other potential deals.

I thought it was really interesting when Sean Morrison spoke on a podcast about Cardiff as a club you need to move to. You can't commute, so that may be too much of a commitment for some players as the negotiations progress. You move here and the team bonds, as the families are close as well.

It's a strange place: South Wales, 2 hours from the busiest airport in the world, but hardly anything along that motorway, Reading, Swindon and the outskirts of Bristol. Few can commute.

There are many reasons the players don't sign, its not always nasty Tan.

It's a strange place: South Wales, 2 hours from the busiest airport in the world, but hardly anything along that motorway, Reading, Swindon and the outskirts of Bristol. Few can commute.

There are many reasons the players don't sign, its not always nasty Tan.

Cardiff is not the center of the universe or the draw for players that we all like to think it is.

Swansea seem to be signing plenty of players this summer and they are even further away from civilisation than us so I dont believe location is such an issue ,

I just believe its a combination of bbm only wanting a certain type of player and is unwilling to compromise on that stance which I 100% agree with

And the hierarchy not being known as the most switched on bunch when it comes to getting transfer targets over the line

I still believe we will get 3 players in before the deadline and a couple of names that are doing the rounds would certainly add quality to the squad

But the club as a whole need to learn lessons going forward for future transfer windows as this one has been a bit of a slow burner to put it lightly and now our squad is stretched way to thin

I agree about the location thing. I think it only has a big impact if a player has the chance to go to a London club or if they are homesick. I think Tomlin commuted from Nottingham when he played for us.

But what I will say about Swansea signing players is they are a consistent Championship club.

Whether we like it or not, we are a newly promoted club and therefore there is a risk signing for us that it could mean a relegation on your CV. I don't think we will be relegated but it would be seen as a risk by a player/agent.

Yes I believe being a newly promoted club probably adds an extra level of difficulty for the type of quality players bbm is insistent on

I think once premier league clubs have sorted their squads out is when we will be seen as a very appealing option for clubs to send their young stars on loan to and when we might have an edge on other clubs

Some major signings now occurring in the Prem. Which in turn moves players onto lesser Prem clubs and in doing so we start to see the release of players from those clubs, for sale or loan into the Championship
