Omari Kellyman has completed his permanent move to Strasbourg from Chelsea.
A reminder that Chelsea and Strasbourg are owned by the same group, Blueco. It is the 20th transfer between the two clubs and two more Chelsea players are expected to join Strasbourg this summer.
Nothing dodgy going on there then.

Unfortunately, another perfect example of the rules not being tightened up for the big clubs, allowing them to abuse the system to balance the books.
In a different way, but just as wrong, top clubs can take talent at 16 for very little compensation and then fight as hard as possible to reduce even that.
That’s why the Championship is one of the best leagues around. The standard is high, but without the constant bias towards the biggest clubs.

Let’s hope people don’t blame the club for not signing Kellyman We had no chance unless Chelsea wanted to loan him out Kellyman stated Cardiff was only place he wanted to go in the championship This transfer is all about balancing books between two associated clubs in their best interest Be interested in finding out what they supposedly paid for him

We need better anyway. Best of luck to him.

Who do you suggest that we could realistically get on loan that would be better?

I agree.
No blame at all attached to the club on this - completely out of their hands.

Omari Kellyman has completed a transfer to Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg from Chelsea. He's penned a five-year contract.
The fee is around £8.5M and Chelsea have a buy-back clause.

Moylan and Colwill look as good; it's a shame, but not the end of the world. If it weren't for the money, I bet he'd have rather come here on loan.

We could not match what they offered but how much are we going to offer to get the quality of kellyman, or are fans now saying he was shite ,and he won' t be missed.

Monty, we were never going to buy him I don't think. It would have to be a loan.
But we had no chance of getting him because Chelsea have just decided to give him to their other club to help with the financial rules. They've got a track record of doing this, don't like it.
I don't agree with others that he wouldn't be good enough, I'm disappointed he hasn't come back - but nothing could be done because of the way Blueco do these transfers.

Its a bloody shame Ned but understand he was to much for us ,
butthe lad was class, he would sometimes go wayward in a game but I was 100% behind him,my other point is how much are we going to spend on some quality do we have a limit etc we need to build a squad not just loans every year.

Someone better.

Would've liked to see him come back but if we were to spend 8.5m to bring him back id prefer to use that fee for 2/3 players.

Even though most of us thought he'd end up in Strasbourg, his fee is still all about potential rather than results.
He doesn't work hard enough to be a 10, nowadays, you still need 10 km and win a few tackles a game. Not quick enough as a winger, but still not strong enough to lead the line......He didn't score many as a 9
I'd rather the £3 mill on Moylan (3 years older) than the 8.5 on Kellyman on their L1 results.
But its all about opinions.....

We will see how much we will spend of the supposed 7 mill for the Norwegian which failed.

Didn’t we do something very similar with a striker from Tans other club(maybe Zohore).

Yeah I can't remember the exact details but that rings a bell.
Don't agree with it though, whether it's us or another team. It's just playing the system and I'm surprised the rules haven't been tightened.

100% agree.
Kellyman was good enough but we’ve got better in my opinion.
