VOTE: MAN of the MATCH v DERBY (Away)

Sat Aug 22, 2026 7:27 pm

I was at the game today and (internet apart) I thoroughly enjoyed. It was a game that either side could claim to have had the better opportunities, but my belief is that we could/should have held on for the win

Put basically, I thought everyone ‘put in a shift’ and for a disjointed team with some square pegs in round holes (mainly at the back) we were always going to be susceptible to a ball over the top or around the side; and once we get a few square pegs in square holes (or vice versa) with returning players and a couple of additions, we will be fine and hold our own in the Division on current evidence

Regarding today’s match, I was impressed with our general fitness for the whole game, and with a few performances, but for me it was in a similar to last week where Rubin Colwill ran the show, and both Jack Moylan and Callum Scanlon showed why BBM brought them in

Today, despite him being substituted and looking knackered after his lay-off, I’ve gone for Rubin Colwill ahead of Jack Moylan and Callum Scanlon (who made a couple of thankfully unpunished errors) for his overall contribution to everything good the Bluebirds did in this game! :ayatollah:

Robertson for me today.

Probably won't get many votes because a lot of his work goes unnoticed, but a pass success rate of 92% with over 60 passes in an away game is very good.

Thought he kept us ticking today.

Scanlon a close second.

I thought some of his corners were abysmal, sailing way over anyone & everyone who isn't 20 feet tall.

True, I was talking more about his general play. Don't think we play as well as we did at times without him.

He's been poor at corners ever since he came to the club though, not sure why he still takes them.

i went for Bagan, although I could have easily voted for Scanlon.

I went for Scanlon but I thought Rubin was excellent in the first half & ran the show for us.

Scanlon but I thought Bagan was excellent. Great point under the circumstances.

Team effort was 100% and im sure that ll pull us through a lot this season
Corners are shocking god knows why Robertson is taking them , to be fair no one can take a corner or cross the ball .
But great point and im sure we ll get the right players we need
Well done today

Any of them really apart from one or two but I won’t name them as they don’t deserve the Critism , but I thought Robertson was brilliant , Scanlon too , colwill good , Moylan love him , ng good . They all gave it their all and that’s all we can ask for

I went with scanlon as I thought he was just as good in attack as he was defence today with his over laps

Also a little mention to Turnbull who gets plenty of criticism but today I thought he bought a lot of calm and control to midfield when he came on at a time when the game was getting a little manic in the middle , he also worked hard tracking back and made a few vital interceptions, he still has a part to play in my opinion

That’s a fair point about turnball , he did well , I hope he comes good this season as he’s a decent guy , I do have my critisms sometimes off him , but always have hope for him

To be fair, Turnbull did play well.

However, I can't share your view that he has a part to play. He was good at Bradford last season (scored a wonder goal) and obviously the goal against Chelsea - but otherwise went missing.

Also the club put a video out of the dugout when Rubin scored against Wrexham on Monday, Robertson was trying to celebrate with him and it looked like he didn't care. So I'm still unconvinced.

How has Trott only got 1 vote? Literally kept us in the match on more than 2 occasions due to defensive gaffes. Superb performance from him

Fair point I thought their keeper made a couple of unbelievable saves too
