Scanlan or Bagan at LB

If/when Bagan is free'd up, who's our first choice LB?

I like Scanlon's performances in the first two games of the season.

But I do think Bagan should get that spot at first, purely because he was so good last season and has done a good job at filling in at CB.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Scanlon on the wing at times this season.

I think Kpacio and Scanlan would prosper under a wingbacks system, but I can't see BBM changing systems

Scanlan based on the last 2 performances as his pace adds an extra dimension on the over lap , however bagan has been great in both games so will be an extremely tough decision for bbm

Both have been excellent in both games all our problems today come from the other side. I'd be happy for both to keep playing, would Chambers or Osho really have done a better job than Bagan

It will come down to two things for BBM:

1) Tactics for the upcoming game
2) Who trained better


He won’t just pick one over the other for any other reason.

So we will likely see a share this season potentially unless one clearly outperforms.

But infortunatley dont have that option and we have to play both left backs and right backs as central defenders

I’m a Bagan supporter, but Scanlon has shown his value to BBM’s interchangeable tactics, so I think we are safe with either player in that position

Scanlon is quicker and better going forward. He will end up as first choice.

He’s also younger than Bagan so much more to come from him.

Another option could be similar to what Pep and Arteta have done by moving athletic fullbacks into midfield. So Scanlan in midfield alongside side Robertson. But this would sacrifice one of the more attacking midfielders, but not so bad for days when Moylan starts LW instead.

Always good to have tactical options.

I thought Ng has looked poor defensively in both games. Keeps straying too far up field leaving Osho to cover the left winger as well as the centre.

Maybe Bagan needed to go to League One and meet BBM to get his career going?

I’ve always liked him and I can see the big difference between his last time in the Championship and the current one. It’s huge!

Likewise - Both deserve to be in the starting 11 .

Can either play right back to cover for NG when he's at centre half, Kpakio is terrible defensively.

Agreed but cover for Kpakio if NG out, or Scanlon could play on the wing, later in games when stretched.

I agree. We always look more dangerous when Kapakio is bombing forward.
