Injury update - Osho, Lawlor, Chambers

Thu Aug 20, 2026 10:02 am

BBM:

"Well, Gabriel Osho hyperextended his knee late on, so he was in discomfort.

The crutches were just to make sure he wasn't weight-bearing after the game, but we'll check on him this afternoon and see if he's OK.

He was quite sore after the game, so we'll have to check on him this afternoon.

We're going to check on Calum Chambers.

Not sure if he'll do the full session, but we'll check on him this afternoon and hopefully he can move forward to Saturday."

Dylan Lawlor and obviously Will Fish will not be available.

It hasn't been a challenge to decide who plays where because we have nobody else. So that's been pretty straightforward.

This is a welcome relief for me.

But joking aside, I think it just happens. There's different things that will happen during the season that test you.

At the moment, in that area of the pitch, we are vulnerable, and that's obvious."

This is utter madness that we havn't brought in a CB by now. Lawlor hasn't played one minute in pre season, Fish is out for 3 months (which happend 3 weeks ago) which has left us starting the season with only 2 CB, if Osho and Chambers don't make it for saturday who the hell will play at CB and who will cover from the bench ?? This situation has been an urgent issue for weeks and still nothing is done about it. I've a bad feeling about the rest of the transfer window but i hope/prey i'm wrong.

Osho should have used crutches against Wrexham
He could have whacked Keiffer with them.

I can see the other side of this.

We have 4 quality CB's out injured but they will return. Bringing in another CB of equal quality just eats up cash that could be spent elsewhere.

IF we spend it elsewhere, obviously.

Wouldn't want, potentially a 5th or 6th First Team CB who is just eating up money we could spend on another Striker or Winger

Sounds like there's no intention to sign a centre back.

I agree with you Wayne. We have 4 cb's all of who could be picked any week if all fit, we don't need a 5th.

Injury's happen and we as all clubs do, have to get through it the best we can.

But if say we loan centre back cover and there good enough they keep there place ,that's xalkwd completion which is would rather than go no centre backs for months and we need to keep the fan case together if we see no ambition apart from survival the crowds will dwindled fast.

Would expect a loan to keep his place if playing well, but on the whole, IF, as it seems we are not spending much money, would rather it went elsewhere than on a sixth CB

Extreamly unlucky to have so many injuries in the same position, but thats life, now sign some cover quickly needs must.

Young and growing and injury prone, he wont be playing week in week out this season, like Colwill when he was growing up.
