Referee - star rating

Tue Aug 18, 2026 7:32 am

Was suggested to me that we change the referee rating from marks out of ten to a star rating - from 5 down to 0. If people don't like it, we'll go back to the old style.

So how many stars would you give last night's referee?

Seems a better system, Ned

I do feel that rating the referee (out of 10) is too often influenced by the result or a single decision, so this might work better

For the reasons above, I don’t usually vote on the referee, but on this system I did; and I gave him 3*** (average)

It was nearly a 2** but I gave him some leeway because despite his apparent keenness to give Wrexham some strange decisions in the first half an hour, he booked the mercenary, and his one assistant missed loads when Wrexham were attacking our end

2. Poor. There was a phase where they were scruffing us a bit and not being picked up. Some weird deicions that always seemed to go against us.

Anyone know if the pull back was last man/red card as it looked that was from where I was sat.

Linesman on Ninian side was shocking.

2 for me ,linesman was also a horror and deffo penalty if you watch in slow mo the defenders foot is inside the box across Joe's leg.

Was a yellow, another Wrexham defender was there to come across. So no last man or goal scoring opportunity reasons for a red.

For those who thought it was a pen, the foul happened right on the line, so that was a difficult one to call.

I thought Keifer's goal was offside originally until i went out at half time and seen the replay on sky app, everyone else went up except osho who was 3 meters deeper than the other back 3 jogging out. Although the lineman did have a shocker in truth loads of decisions Vs us. The ref wasn't much cop either but it works both ways over a season :bluescarf:

And gave Salech nothing. The amount of wrestling and shirt pulling he had to put up with was ridiculous.

Now the emotions are out of the way its amazing how suddenly the ref may get an extra point from me after we equalised!

I gave a 4. It wasnt a dirty game and in its class I would actually say easy to moderate.

He did let a lot go for both sides. Interestingly during the last 10 minutes he seemed to give more to us as he didnt want to be taken in by Wrexhams attempts to winlittle free kicks to see the game out.

2 things that got me thinking....

1. Pulling back Willock from Taking on his man buy the penalty area to give us a Free kick just inside Wrexhams half

2. Giving a foul on Sam Smith when he is 30 yards away and the lino is 30 centimeters away ( and doesnt give it)

Overall I felt we could have given us a bit more but hey.....

On the line is a penalty.

It has to be outside the box for it to be a free kick and surely the benefit of any doubt should be given to the attacking team?

Clear penalty for me from the Canton.

Defo penalty that got brushed under the carpet because, despite the useless ref, Rubin scored it anyway, from further out with about 18 players in front of him :ayatollah: :occasion5:
