Apologies for delay in posting, but I had phone issues during the game

I thought we recovered well from a tough start and it was one of those games that was going to end up like it did (what a goal!) or we’d concede another one for trying hard but wasting so much ball

I liked the look of Moylan in particular, and without taking anything away from the rest of the team, I thought the introduction of the Colwill brothers was the deciding factor

I would normally have gone for Moylan, but tonight it simply has to go to the goal-scoring Bluebird super sub, Rubin Colwill for that superb and decisive goal alone!

I could go for Rubin because it was magical moment.

But it's Scanlon for me, he put in his best performance so far in a City shirt.

I thought Joel Bagan was absolutely outstanding, first goal aside.

Bearing in mind he was out of position too, really looked comfortable.

Moylan, Osho, Robertson and Scanlon were very good too.

Rubin came on and ran the show for 15 minutes or so.
Picking the ball up from deep, probing, attacking and scoring.

However, for the whole game it’s Scanlon who edges it for me.

100% agree that the colwill bros changed the game, joe was more direct than Robertson ,and rubin opened the game up ,both with there running with the ball.
I said all match someone needs to run with it to create something passing it to death does not always work.

I thought Bagan put in a solid and assured performance stepping in at CB before moving back to LB. Always calm and read the game well - often there on the right place when we needed someone

Tanner was by far the best player in the first half, the only one consistently getting past his man and getting decent balls into the box. I was surprised to see his number go up first.

Scanlan. I wasn't sure why we re-signed him; I am now aware. Got stuck right in and quality going forward.

Bagan may be in trouble, but also cameoed very well at CB (other than the goal, which arguably was top class by KM)

Wow !! Just shows how everyone sees a game differently!! I, and many around me, thought Tanner was awful !! Apart from one cross I can’t remember him finding another City player in the box. He also lost the ball in a very dangerous position in the 2nd half where Wrexham nearly scored (which he did a lot last season too).

And I thought Osho was woeful. He played them onside at least twice - once for the goal, his line was terrible. The commentators on Sky were all over him. Similarly at HT, as the players went off, the commentators focused on Ollie, saying he was the danger man. Went off the boil in the second half admittedly

Several contenders but I went for Bagan - did an excellent job while playing out of position and was always available to receive the ball and move us forwards.

There were lots of contenders but I can’t believe that I’m the only one voting for Alex Robertson - I thought he was excellent; particularly in the first half.

People just like to hate on Tanner. Not sure what anyone expected either winger to do when Wrexham were so compact.

Bagan MOTM all day didn't put a foot wrong playing out of position against very good strikers

All I can say is your watching a different player to me. What good attacking situations? Most of the game we attacked at a glacial pace, Wrexham were set, Tanner (and Willock) spent the game taking balls to feet with no space to work in. Bad touches leading to counter attack? It simply didn't happen certainly not last night

Not going to get into an argument but there was one particular instance in the first half when he did lose the ball and we were immediately on the back foot. He had 3/4 situations at least where he had enough space to create something decent but failed.
It wasn't just last night he consistently shows that weakness but can come up with gems. His percentages should be better.

I agree with what you say about the slow pace of attack. That has to improve.

Bagan was very good. The goal wasn’t on him he had every right to think Osho would be alongside him.

Apart from his first touch against the Jacks for "that" goal. It was his first touch of the entire game having just come on as a sub, on a wet pitch. Traps it like a bag of cement and lays it off for himself to hit an unstoppable low drive into the corner. Watch that again and tell me he's got a poor touch.... It's just not true
