Did Colwill as a 6 Change the Game?

Mon Aug 17, 2026 9:49 pm

Could Bellamy be right about RC being a 6? Because he looked like a Rolls-Royce tonight.

He hit passes with pace, ran past Wrexham players, and they had no way of getting the ball off him.

Could he be the physical player we’ve been looking for? For me, he was by far the best player on the pitch across both teams from the moment he came on.

The goal capped it off, but what a performance.

The Liverpool game in the FA Cup a few years back he played deep and ever since then I’ve called for him to play deeper. Not sure about 6 but definitely an 8. He just needs to keep up the level of effort even when the Sky cameras aren’t on the game.

Good post and I’ve always said he could be better in that position. He’s certainly more positive and proactive than Robertson.

It was almost like a rambo kind performance deep going forward with effect... a bit to clever at times but thats what makes him

His best position is in an 8 role. He was superb away at Villa there

I agree, perfect for games like last night but not if we're defending a lead.

Not to take away from his performance last night when he came on, because he was very good.
