BBM: Don't take transfer delays as a reflection of the club

Thu Aug 13, 2026 6:54 pm

BBM:

"I can be quite slow at a lot of things I do, so I wouldn't take that as a reflection of the club. It's more a reflection of me.

Sometimes these transfers happen really quickly, in this case they don't.

But it's not something that keeps me worrying all day, in fact quite the opposite."

Bbm is taking a back seat on transfers he is concentrating of the players and tactics so he said at the start of the transfer window that's left to others ,so i don' t know what all this is about .?

Bit of a strange one monty? Take it he's not hurrying the transfers he's allowing them to progress naturally! He may choose players but as we k know others do the buisness side of things but that doesn't mean they're at fault for delay in signings?
Also I'm taking view he sees this forum and he's having a dig at people who wanted players in on 1st August and saying he's not being backed?

Re: BBM: Don't take transfer delays as a reflection of the c

It says to me that bbm is very particular in the type of player he wants and won't allow the club to do what they have done in the past and made club signings the manager has no interest in and bbm is willing to wait as long as it takes

Whilst can see why the concern about lack of players people really need to take couple of chill pills because being stressed on here is not going to get players in any quicker? Time to stress is after 12 games and we've not won any games? :laughing6:

Fair play to BBM

Made me wind my neck in a bit there.
His statement shows his strong focus on the development of the match day squad and options. It shows commitment and a mass of faith in the players, which will hopefully boost them...

We all now we are 2 or 3 short, so does he....
But hes busting a gut on the team rather than away from the team right now....

Guess Worcester can finally have a deserved rest now BBM has backed him up!

He didn't say that. He said he was focusing on training and improving the players. That doesn't mean he's taking a back seat on transfers. It shouldn't be difficult to understand and it's not for most.

Doubt it. He knows we have to be patient in the transfer market to get the player he wants, which he will by the end of the window.

Do you honestly believe publicly BBM can be honest.

He was at the meeting this week and hardly spoke and looked really down.

He was laughing in his press conference yesterday though, in his usual mood and was happy.

He speaks total sense here, something that some of the people on this forum who have been throwing their toys of the pram won't accept because it doesn't fit with what they're trying to say.

I am not going to be all doom and gloom like so many others, because BBM is spot on that some transfers happen quick and others take longer.

The only fair time to judge the transfer window is when it closes. I'll judge it for good or for bad then.

Until then, I'll continue pushing back against some of the people on here who have completely lost the plot and are overreacting to a situation which hasn't reached it's conclusion yet - even if that's means I don't get my "well deserved rest".

It doesn't say he's leaving it to others. He says he's focusing on training the team, that doesn't mean he's not focusing on transfers.

Moylan talked about his conversations with BBM that just proves that.

We have different interpretations leave if there, and I am sure the player did speak to the manager at one point and been irish they probably had a very good chat.

Depends on how you interprete what he said? I said he's highlighted who he wants and is leaving the buisness side to others? Which makes sense in context of what he said? He simply doesn't have time to chase after agents ect with season so close ...tbh thats the logical interpretation of what he said.

Exactly Allan, and that's the same with all managers.

Just look at the transfers we have made/are making - Moylan is very clearly a BBM player and Scanlon came last season because of BBM. It's obvious he's choosing who he signs so is heavily involved.

Re: BBM: Don't take transfer delays as a reflection of the c

Why are they taking so long though? Is he picking targets and not getting the backing from Tan? If he is being backed then BBM needs to take responsibility if we have a bad start to the season. My opinion is you should be doing your main transfer business before the season starts. Loans then can come in after the season starts.

I've already answered that. It's not even like training is 24 hours a day either, even the preparation.

To say he is not involved in transfers is just not true, and not what he said.

But if you're mentioning his quotes then surely you're not worried about transfers, because he said yesterday that he's not worried.

In an ideal world, that happens. But for whatever reason the targets obviously aren't available until late in the window. Better to wait than sign someone just for the sake of it.

BBM is not worried so neither am I.

I agree with you we should be waiting rather than signing someone for the sake of it. But surely not all our targets need to take this long. Other clubs are doing a lot of good business before the start of the season. I’m confident we will bring a couple in but I’m disappointed we Havnt given ourselves time to gel the team before the season starts. It’s extremely frustrating because we all know we desperately needed new additions.
