Daily Mail: Calum Scanlon close to re-joining Cardiff City on loan

Scanlon close to rejoining Cardiff on loan from Liverpool
The Liverpool youngster is unlikely to remain with the club for this season, though, with Simon Jones reporting for the Daily Mail that the 21-year-old is ‘closing in on’ a loan move to Cardiff City.

There we go Glen not that hard

Provides the LB cover we need, have a feeling Bagan is going to be good this season but def going to need cover.

Scanlon done well when played but bagan was too good to drop last season.

Happy with this deal, sure he’s in his last year of contract to, could persuade him to sign in January?

And Kellyman - Strasbourg on a permanent so he's out of the picture now if he ever was in it

Pleased about Scanlon, we needed LB cover. Didn't see enough to judge him properly but it does make sense to bring him back as cover.

Disappointing about Kellyman, but we will have other targets who will be of a similar quality.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Bagan moved in to CB until we get people back. I've never been convinced about g playing there

I think I'd prefer a back four of Ng, Osho, Bagan and Scanlon to Kpakio, Osho, Ng and Bagan.

That's assuming of course that Scanlon actually signs and that he's ready to straight into the team.

BBM also said that Chambers could be available, the fact the game is Monday helps.

Some of the Vloggers around have said that there are rumours that Lawlor may be available too; with the aid of pain killers of some sort.

Can't help but be a little underwhelmed by this only because it's not really strengthening the squad that finished last season.

Having said that, in the few cameos he made for us, I think there were touches of real class there. He's also got bags of pace. Got a sneaky feeling he could come really good for us.

Perhaps against the grain but I’m
Perfectly happy with scanlon and kinda hoped we would get him back.

Bagan is clearly number 1 so it’s always a hard sell for the profile that bbm wants to recruit a position where the incumbent is so consistent.

Scanlon shows a lot of promise. He can play higher up. He’s rapid which we really don’t have. And at his stage he isn’t expecting to be first choice. In fact he more than anyone will know exactly what to
Expect. He’s had a preseason with Liverpool and already knows the squad. A smart move for me. And we ARE stronger on account we will haver cover and a manager that knows how to develop talent like him

I’d like to see us buy Cody drameh and have him back here I think that’s a bargain if Preston get him for a 1 mill rather him to kpakio and send him out on loan to get experience

Scanlon, has a lot to learn and develop, from.what I saw of him he ain't going to be a first pick or ahead of Bagan who is an excellent full back and the one we should invest in as Scanlon will be off if he has a good season .

These loan signings are very shallow as they dont help us when it comes to our club youngsters development .

We're just a used loan platform...

Bagan and Ng are not quick enough for the Championship. Kpakio can’t defend and has lost confidence going forward.

Scanlon has to start

We are going to get in our 3rd player of the season...

Do you think he’s actually targeting a no.10?

I think we’re ok in that position now.

I agree but I think we need a pacy winger

True because Rubin, Moylan and Ashford can all play there. Benefit of Kellyman is he would have been able to play wide too.

But I think we'll probably bring in a winger anyway.

Worcester I would love us to go for Amari cozier Duberry from Brighton on loan if possible he's quick and looked good at Bolton last season!!

Good shout. He was really good last season, expect a lot want him but I agree - hope we're trying if it's possible.

I'd agree with this, and put this in my wanted list earlier in the window. He was stand out last season in L1.

A good left back/left wing back option, and young so will improve. Didn't have much football last season.

Kellyman - we did our job for him last season, got him playing and match fit on a run of games and scoring. Not a surprise he's off to Strasbourg if indeed he does go there.

Signing the Irishman means we have readymade option at both 10 and left side of attack - he's a definite first team player, as is the signing of Trott. Scanlon a squad player but decent pace.

It is a concern we have injuries in defence but let's see who gets on the pitch Monday night before we rush to judgement on the transfers.

Personally I'd favour a right back to compete with Perry; defensively we haven't had a better one since Peltier; not too hot going forward but defensively and absolute brick.

Slight delay on scanlon as they want him to sighn new contract before leaving on loan? Obviously that could effect the amount of money we have to pay Liverpool!
