Only taking into consideration our squad as it looks today, I very sadly predict 21st/22nd.

I took time to read through the championship squad lists. The quality on the wings and firepower upfront that teams possess is frightening.

In my opinion, we are going to be very reliant on BBM working magic, week in week out

Adding on to that - I desperately hope to be proved wrong by seeing quality additions come through the door.

Way to early yet, best wait till the end of the window or beyond we don' t know who ,or how many new recruits we will have,
and with the injury list we know fish is out for a long time not heard what lawlors prob is but will not probably see for a month and chambers no update and whoever we bring in we will need to bed in see how they perform.
As I say way to early bbm does not know his starting best 11 yet so on that basis how can you predict the season ahead with injuries and incomings.

You can make predictions in the week building up to the season. That's why every media outlet is doing it now.

You don't judge the squad until the window is ended. But you can still make predictions.

I agree Chris, wait until the end of the transfer window so we know what squad we and others have.

Anything other than going back down will do me even if we added another 4 players to give us a chance as it's always last minute window stuff we have become immune to as you don't see any of them starting for four weeks odd hardly as they are way behind due to doing it on the cheap as per but we will still be there :bluescarf:

Re: Season predictions

Bookies have us in 21st or 22nd, they are normally pretty accurate. I think it won't take long for us to find out. 6 games will tell us if BBM's style with a team of youngsters and little improvement from the team that was relegated last time are good enough.

Let's hope he proves us all wrong but like you said bookies are rarely wrong either way I won't blame BBM as its down to backing
. Although like you said he will have to adjusted formations and tactics to stand a chance rather than his one style of play we seen in division 1 where we got away results with many games, we won't in the championship for sure if he don't adjust :bluescarf:

Oh right, so that is how it works, Of course, I understand now.
So we have your permission to make predictions now based on where we think our depleted squad will finish BEFORE the window shuts, so that's OK with you...but we aren't allowed to show our frustration at our lack of transfer activity until AFTER the window shuts.
Oh my days!

Two questions for you.

Are the media making predictions?

Are the media judging final squads?

And when I said "you can" I obviously didn't mean permission wise, but I think you knew that anyway.

As this Current Squad Stands I predict 18th

If we as promised add 4 New players you never know 10th or above

Re: Season predictions

Tue Aug 11, 2026 10:19 am

18th to 22nd is my view with current squad I am sure i may feel different when transfer window closes or maybe not Our defence really concerns me

Re: Season predictions

Tue Aug 11, 2026 10:29 am

Maybe I'm being overly positive, but I really don't see us featuring in a relegation battle. Two seasons ago we had awful coaches, a toothless attack and a side totally lacking in confidence and self belief. We now have an excellent coach, a defined way of playing, players who totally understand their roles and in all likelihood further quality additions to be made to the squad.

I believe we will finish somewhere in the 11th -14th bracket.

And going against nearly all the 'expert's' predictions I believe Lincoln will survive the drop because they are dogged and so difficult to beat.

Re: Season predictions

If Bulut can get us top half, BBM can, so 12th or higher, and he has a better Keeper and Striker to start with.

Re: Season predictions

Tue Aug 11, 2026 3:10 pm

I think we will be chasing the just above relegation spot. Nice to get higher but can't see at mo

Re: Season predictions

Tue Aug 11, 2026 3:55 pm

With our current squad, I think we will get relegated. I said recently we need 8 new signings, but we're nowhere near.

I thought I was someone optimistic about the club. I'd be shocked if we were top eight though.

Most of us were negative about our chances of coming back from league 1. We have good players a few more we will be fine.

Re: Season predictions

We went down because Riza was manager. I'm of the view a competent manager would have had us mid table, better manager, better squad this time around. We'll be fine
