WHEN IS THIS FAMILY STAND GOING TO BE SORTED ?

Thu Aug 06, 2026 3:50 pm

Red seats up top for families,
and give the away fans some of the family stand, and move city fans around into where the aways fans where .
There are hardly any families in that end anyway and they have had there chance so no good moaning about been shifted upstairs,
" use it or loose it".

what are you waffling about now

Don't want the away fans behind the goal, always thought that gives the away fans a bit more of an advantage - maybe I'm wrong but just what I think.

Newcastle have the right idea by putting away fans up in the clouds.

Can't see them using the upper tier for anything though - can save money to not have it open unless it's needed, like against Wrexham.

All academic though, there won't be a situation anytime soon where they change the layout of where fans go - whether people like that or not.

I like it.
Will boost the atmosphere. That isolated away patch in the corner makes the stadium look dead and boring.

I can’t recall the exact wording, but within the lease (Council to Club) there is a provision that the Club must take measures to reduce aggro.

I don’t know if these are explicit but they will be physical i.e. Family Stand, segregation blocks, then stewarding etc. Partly fixed into the design also with the corners as they are. Also, the away coach parking and so on.

I assume this is discussed/arranged on an ongoing basis between the SAG together and the Club.

So just to be clear, there is a legal obligation to achieve an end, to which the Club must comply.

The Club will also look at running costs i.e. stewarding/Bill.

To my mind the Family Stand concept works up to a point, but it’s a lot bigger than the old boy’s enclosure at the front of the Grange End. Premier League its full every week. Below that we know its an issue. Hopefully, though, however many kids turn up they get the bug which in the end is what its all about.

The older ones ( +10/11) it seems, just want to be in the Canton.

Personally I’d move the away section to the end of the grandstand next to the family stand and have our supporters replace that corner. The family stand isn’t getting the numbers and could be reduced a bit. And I’d prefer to have our fans making noise behind both goals. After all, it’s all about maximising home advantage to put off the opponents

More concerning I would say is the lack of families using it, that’s the future support there and you want them hidden away in an out of the way place. How will we achieve this so called massive club status that some are so obsessed with. For me purely based on improving the atmosphere put the away fans in the corner between the canton and ninian stands.

How many more threads do we need on this topic?

Nothing is going to happen to the layout whilst tan is running the club.

There would have to be come significant segregation and netting put up between the fans and massively increased stewarding and police presence.

Nothing to do with tan really got safety group which includes council ... I'm sure you'll find ccs was designed with away fans iin area that can be easily separated from home fans given our fans reputation also some away fans like Leeds swansea... all moving both sets of fans together would be to increase clubs security costs and undoubtedly cause some problems during certain games.... People say about other clubs fans next to each other nearly all are old stadiums pre 80s where segregation wasn't an issue for safety groups and police as is now

I've always thought that's the place to put away fans, in the upper tier out of the way.

Generally the idea is to keep away fans quiet? Putting next to home fans especially at ccs is counterproductive ....
