Cardiff City Sign Jack Moylan on a permanent transfer from Lincoln City, a Fee of £2Mill, signing a four-year deal which will run until the summer of 2030. :bluebird: :bluebird:

Jack Moylan is a Bluebird

Medical passed and £2Mill Transfer agreed and Contract etc

Updated:

Lincoln City CEO Liam Scully says he expects Jack Moylan to join Cardiff City this summer.

"The deal isn't done yet and there's still a bit to go,but it on course.”

Cardiff City's summer transfer window is finally gathering pace, with Republic of Ireland international jack Moylan closing in on a move to the Bluebirds.

Jack Moylan has triggered the £2mill get out clause in his contract subject to agreeing wages and passing a medical.
Cardiff are willing to pay the fee, £1mill upfront and the remainder next season.

Cardiff City's summer transfer window finally appears to be springing into life, with the Bluebirds closing in on a move for Republic of Ireland international Jack Moylan.

After murmurings of frustration among supporters over the lack of new arrivals, Brian Barry-Murphy's side now look set to make their first outfield signing of the summer, with Lincoln City's attacking midfielder emerging as the man poised to head to the Welsh capital.

The Jens Hjertø-Dahl transfer to Cardiff has come to a dead end.

Great signing. He was brilliant for Lincoln last season and seamlessly fits into a BBM team.

Lincoln fans might have expected him to go to a top Championship team, but they'll be disappointed it's to us.

Great signing, if we can get it over the line.

Of course he has !

It's only their lack of Cardiff City knowledge (and bitterness) that makes them say things like this. From 2005/06 to 2021/22 we only finished in the bottom half of the Championship once and that was when we ended up in 13th position.

To all intents and purposes we are a top Championship side that has been through a relatively short bad patch.

Sorry, wrong wording from me. I meant to a club that will likely be challenging for the top eight. I don't see us as that and personally wouldn't say that because I think it's setting unreasonably high expectations.

Very pleased with this signing though when it happens :thumbright:

What a strange comment from that person.

Moylan was nominated for Player of the Season, none of our players were. Wintle was a defensive midfielder, Moylan is an attacking player.

Just look at how annoyed the Lincoln fans are. Or for anyone who actually watched Moylan last season, will know he's a good player.

In our squad, only Salech scored more than Moylan last season. Moylan isn't even a striker, he's a midfielder.

I will be delighted if we get this deal done. For just 2m seems a good deal as I would have thought he's worth double that.

I have no idea why this Leshoes guy keeps getting posted on here also.

Moylan signing

Postby Brezza » Tue Aug 04, 2026 11:15 am

Has it happened yet? Why does it take so long for Cardiff city to sign a player? I know there are a number of moderators on here as well as other contributors who say there is no need to rush etc. But I simply don’t buy this. The season is just around the corner - Wintle our playmaker last year has gone, Lawlor and Colwill are injured, over a year gone and no proper back up for Bagan and Sellech. So little time to bed new players in. We don’t just need Mogan but another 4 signings. Other clubs are doing business. Meanwhile. - I can already hear those words so well known to Bluebirds ‘we ran out of time’ and ‘ we couldn’t get it over the line’

We will bring in players.

Of course it takes time to finalise transfers and announce them. You have to do personal terms, the contract, pictures, interviews etc.

It was only reported on Saturday too.

I disagree. It doesn’t take that long. But it does with Cardiff city. As you approach deadline day it’s done in hours.

It has to be done quick in deadline day because funnily enough there's a deadline

A medical standardly takes about eight hours, sometimes done over two days.

All the legal people from both clubs and the player have to go over the contract and then sign it. Other things have to be done.

It's not difficult to understand, it takes time and it always baffles me that some don't get that.

I'll repeat that this transfer was only reported on Saturday, we've only had two full days since then.

It's panic buying by the end of the window; supply and demand move during the window.

The deals start coming quicker now as clubs move some on before buying; it's like busses non for ages, then loads at once.

Moylan today or tomorrow I reckon, but the end of the week at the latest.

Lincoln fans sound gutted to be losing Moylan.
He certainly was a fans favourite with them.
Could be a great signing for us, if he does come to Cardiff.

It does take long when you have a few players to announce at the same time!

Worcester - I think you’re missing the point or perhaps clumsily said. I meant we need 5 players and it takes ages just to get one. I’m not blaming BBM by the way. It’s the people in charge of transfers that are slow. We have an MD who is part time which doesn’t help.

There is a month left of the window. I have no doubt we will add more in addition to Trott.

As others have said, things always speed up around August.

My worry when transfers drag on is that other clubs become aware of the situation and may try to hijack the transfer.

I'm sure that, like the Norwegian lad, the player has no affinity to Cardiff and he and his agent will be looking to maximise their earning potential.

The longer things take to be finalised the more chance of some other team offering a better deal.

Spot on Davids. That’s why I was trying to say we are ALWAYS too slow to buy players. And by the way Worcester - it is August now. The premiership players will because of their big players know already which youngsters they will let out. AND we have even less time to bed any new players in before the season starts which is under a fortnight. To be fair we have known for over a year urgent back ups are required for Bagan and Salech. The latter could get injured in the very first game. So I don’t think I’m impatient at all just a realist of the situation. Even today we are getting g rid of players but nobody coming in. And I stress we do not need one but FIVE

Yes it is August, it's the 4th. Does the window shut on the 5th or at the end of the month?

I will repeat the crucial thing which you are choosing to ignore - this was first reported on Saturday. There has been ONE full working day until then.

You can bang on about it being slow all you want but you clearly have no understanding about how these things work so it's pointless even discussing it with you.
