Cardiff City striker Kion Etete has joined Newport County on a permanent two-year deal (with the option for a further year).
The 23-year-old joins the Exiles for an undisclosed fee after limited first-team minutes at Cardiff last season.
Apparently Newport are taking etete on a permanent transfer and mafico on a loan

Hasn't happened for him here but wish him all the best at Newport.
It must be soul destroying to suffer so many injuries as a young player and maybe if he can stay fit he can be a real asset to them in League 2.

His luck will be a last ten minute substitute cameo there and get injured again i suspect sadly. I would say that's his level but that would be insulting division 2.

Apparently it’s a fake account.
He played in a friendly last Saturday for Tranmere Rovers.

Biggest Bullshit Transfer for years
Cost City a fortune in money / wages etc
Was never any good
Newport is at best for him
I hope it’s True?

Harsh to say hes the worst transfer in years. Did he cost us much? Arguably Gary Madine was way worse, what an utter waste of money that was. Etete on paper was worth a gamble but his injuries will prevent him having any kind of decent professional career, thats not his fault.

Didn't he cost next to nothing but we'd owe Spurs a huge amount of any future sale? That was my recollection. No idea why we gave him a contract extension though, it's was clear at that time he was nowhere near

You’re correct; Kion Etete has not signed for anyone, specifically not Cewnty, at this point, but the Bluebirds are hopeful he will be moving on soon
Shame about his injuries, and I wish him well, but he is a perfect example of why BBM must be left to choose his own players rather than having them ‘forced’ on him or gotten in just to fill a perceived space in the squad

Yes the contract extension was a strange one for sure.
I think Spurs may be regretting relying on a future sale to make any money from the deal.

I think Spurs were aware he wasn't good enough and hoped he'd come good at a lower level because he was a big athletic guy. Best case he's Kieffer Moore worst case it's wages off the book

Whether this rumour from that Newport page is true or not, I have no doubt that Etete will leave this summer. There is no way our manager will have any intention of using him this season. So it's best for everyone that he moves on.
Same goes for Daland and Simic.

People are being very hard on the player, who I’m sure isn’t getting injured on purpose, but if he has failed a medical with Cewnty, then his professional career is surely at a crossroads where the only choices aren’t leading to the bright lights?
I feel for the guy and wish him well. He certainly has the talent, but sometimes it just doesn’t work out, and it’s certainly not going to be at Cardiff City FC

Good luck to him at Newport hopefully they get a much better season this season coming up
