“ TOP 10 FOOTBALL CLUBS FOR ARRESTS 2025-26 “

Sat Jul 25, 2026 2:47 pm

Manchester City top a new breakdown of football related fan arrests across England and Wales for the 2025-26 season, finishing well clear of every other club on the list.

According to the Home Office, arrestable incidents were logged at 1,644 fixtures throughout the season, the highest total recorded since the UK Football Policing Unit began tracking the figures back in 2017-18. Police forces are reportedly using the data to push for additional funding to help manage matchday disorder going forward.

Here is the full top ten breakdown:

1. Manchester City – 102 arrests
2. Chelsea – 76 arrests
3. Manchester United – 67 arrests
4. Arsenal – 66 arrests
5. Millwall – 63 arrests
6. Everton – 62 arrests
7. Leeds United – 59 arrests
8. Portsmouth – 55 arrests
9. Liverpool – 52 arrests
10. Tottenham Hotspur – 52 arrests

City's total of 102 is more than a third higher than second placed Chelsea. Manchester United followed in third, largely attributed to the sheer scale of their fanbase, with almost 18 percent of their support base coming from London alone.

Arsenal rounded out the top four, reflecting both the size of their fanbase and the number of high profile fixtures they were involved in across the Premier League and Champions League last season. Millwall placed fifth, a figure that could realistically grow given West Ham's move down to the Championship next season, with West Ham themselves currently holding the most banning orders of any English club at 121, despite not featuring on this particular list.

Everton finished sixth with ten more arrests than fellow Merseyside club Liverpool, meaning the two clubs combined for 114 arrests despite their stadiums sitting less than two miles apart. Leeds United's return to the top flight came with 59 arrests in seventh, while Portsmouth stood out as one of only two clubs outside the traditional big city Premier League names to feature prominently on the list.

Liverpool and Tottenham finished level on 52 arrests each, though Liverpool ranked marginally higher on the overall list due to a greater number of banning orders among their supporters.

Bit surprised that West Ham aren't on the list.

The figures are a bit unfair in a way. Eight of the ten are Premier League clubs so will have more fans and therefore more violence.
