Updated: Lawlor to west ham

Sat Jul 18, 2026 10:37 am

Updated:

I am hearing that Lawlor wants to stay with Cardiff and wants at least to stay with us in the Championship and is in No rush to leave.

Lawlor has made his mind up he wants to stay, unless he is pushed out.

BBM wants Lawlor to Stay as well.

But Hierarchy need to Sell someone to give BBM real money.

Reports this morning west ham are in talks with us over signing Dylan, the guy reporting it is normally very accurate when it comes to west ham news , let's hope this is not one of those times

Updated:

West Ham are in discussions with Cardiff City over their defender Dylan Lawlor.

There is interest in the player from elsewhere, including Bayern Munich.

Dylan has not been played in both City friendlies so far:

Plus BBM will get some money to then buy a couple of players.

Annis,

I agree - £15m is the very least I would accept for Lawlor and a 30% sell on clause.

£20m plus big sell on clause or tell them to f**k off :banghead:

Re: Updated : “ Dylan Lawlor “

don't sell him for under 25 million
we should keep him at all costs

they have got the money due to selling a player to spurs
make them pay huge money

I was sat next to Dylan's aunty at Cork. His knee is not 100% and he has been suffering with growing pains.
That is the only reason he has not played.

Not sure why we're even discussing this with West Ham.

The player has made it clear that he wants to stay and apparently Tan is fully backing BBM this season so why are we even considering a sale of one of our best players?

I always thought it was mad we were willing to spend 5.5m on a player if we weren’t planning to sell someone for a substantial fee. It would make sense.

If we sell him and can get say 3-4 quality players in that’s good business. I’m assuming he’s happy to leave and he’s sure to be on a fabulous deal with them.

Talk them to f.ck off just when we are looking forward to the new season we start loosing all out quality we have kellyman gone wintle gone maybe lawlor now we need to keep our best players and build around them ,and what happened to new money for bbm? its the same as last season sell to buy nothing new here ,does my head and if he does have to go, 25 million or f.ck off and a sell on.

Personally I think we’ll be lucky to get £12-15m. Only my opinion.

I would despair if that happened and where is the new money to back bbm not selling our best to produce funds.

That would be good buisness for tan only, as he would not have to dip into his pocket but we will have lost lawlor and now new money.

West ham sold player recently for 85 million to spurs ,so why should we be happy with a paltry 12 million?

Maybe best to let this one play out before too many (often rash) comments

Other clubs ‘showing interest’, actually selling any player, and to whom, are a separate ball game, as were’re finding out with young Dahl!

30% is minimum would prefer 40% anything less than 30% though is poor buisness because he as potential to be worth £50m+ if improves as he's doing

Re: Updated : “ Dylan Lawlor “

Sat Jul 18, 2026 1:05 pm

I wouldn't sell unless its above 20m
championship clubs sell 18 year olds for 20-25m nowadays so think it's about time the club do the same

We've always sold players for much less than they're worth
Football has evolved and the days of selling quality players like rambo for under 5m should be behind us

We sold mcguiness for around 8m (I think)
So lawler should be worth more than double that and the hammers have a lot of money now so they shouldn't be able to come to us and walk away with a deal under 20m they aren't anything special they are in the same league as us now so I hope the club don't pull their pants down and bend over for them

Re: Updated : “ Dylan Lawlor “

I doubt even Bayern Munich would fork out £20 million for a defender who has played just 24 League 1 games. It's all down to opinions but I don't rate him as much as others do. Anything around £10 million and I'd bite their hands off..

Lawlor doesn't want to leave are we under any pressure to sell ? if he wants to 25 million plus a 30% sell on clause is the minimum otherwise tell west Ham to DO ONE!!!

it's not all about tan ? Don't you think bbm as some to say on matter as well as lawler? Other teams sell players to balance books
(that's why w-ham have sold players now) so what makes us any different.... believe it or not football is a buying & selling buisness that's how it works and all clubs do good & bad deals

I understand how things work al Brentford and Brighton have been good models ,
but where is the NEW money Backing Bbm ?
did Tan tell bbm when in Malaysia sell lawlor to produce funds.

Not read anything about lawlor on the west ham forums.

Some people are losing their shit over an internet rumor that WH are in talks with us about Dylan Lawlor when the talks could just as easily have been "we want to buy Dylan Lawlor" and the reply of "do one he's not for sale".
