Cardiff City are advancing in negotiations with Tromso for midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl.
The clubs are edging closer to an agreement.
#CCFC would still need to agree personal terms for the 20yo, who is keen to weigh-up all his options amid Rangers interest.

Going on his previous record hes normally pretty accurate so I would assume there is some substance to the rumour

player has already stated he would like to go to Rangers thou

Daily Record is one of the Scottish papers. Would be a strange thing for them to make up.
I always say that we're unlikely to be able to compete with Rangers or Celtic when it comes to signing players, that goes for all Championship clubs.
But if true, good to see us putting these sort of offers on the table.

If true, be interesting to see what would happen if Rangers pulled out of signing him; after all, they’ve just signed the Aussie guy we were after and he plays defensive midfield too.

I'll be amazed if we bid that much

The Scottish Sun newspaper does not mention city but states English club and Turkish club

This a quote from the ‘RangersReview’
Cardiff City have reportedly had a £5.5m offer rejected for Hjerto-Dahl, with Kraemer-Andressen admitting negotiations have been ongoing for a possible exit for the midfielder.

Well if Jens's parents have signed up to the best CCCFC Messageboard then tell your boy to come to Cardiff.
As the song goes, South Wales is wonderful. Apparently it's full of tits, fanny and Cardiff.
Scotland on the other hand is full of big hairy blokes wearing skirts, drinking too much whiskey and speaking in an accent nobody can understand.
And Rangers play in a pub league.
(Apologies to Jock).

As I said earlier in the thread, it is difficult for any Championship club to compete with the Glasgow clubs, players will always prefer to join them. Good to hear we've put in an offer like this but I would expect him to end up at Rangers for these reasons.
Sky Sports:
"Cardiff City have had a £5.5m bid rejected by Tromso for Jens Hjerto-Dahl.
Sky Sports News understands the Norwegian club are looking for a fee of at least £6.8m (€8m), plus add-ons.
Rangers also remain in talks.
It’s believed the 20yo would prefer a move to Ibrox."

Actual figures are often proven wide of the mark from their initial reporting, but at least it shows movement from our club
As for ‘preferring’ Rangers? Let him speak to BBM (without Ken Choo around) and that might well change!
I don’t understand the ‘
it’s not hard cash’ comment, though? When are any deals of such figures ‘
cash upfront’ rather than spread out?
It’s how football transfers work!

Even if he goes to rangers it at least shows the board are willing to back bbm with funds if the right players become available

Reports say we've out-bid Rangers.

Initially yes, I read the same. Think I read that Rangers may come back in though.
Also, it says he prefers Rangers; the only quote I see to babk that up is that he said he’d prefer Rangers to playing in turkey.

That’s a lot of money. I’d never expect us to spend that much unless we are selling one of our players for a substantial fee.

I've said the last few weeks that I think BBM will be backed, others have said similar.
And as has been pointed out by a couple of people on this thread, very few transfers are done with a lump sum paid up front these days. It would be the money spread over four years or so, which doesn't impact the budget too much. That's why Chelsea sign players on eight year contracts.
I think those who say he won't be backed will be pleasantly surprised by the end of the window.

It's been said for a while bbm will be backed but gone are the days we pay stupid money for over the hill journey men
Pretty much every player we sign whilst bbm is at the club will have re sale value
The next few weeks are going to be very interesting and will calm a lot of people nerves

Well if we are budgeting £5M on a single player at least it shows ambition by the club to not be just satisfied with just survival next season. It suggests to me that we may be setting up to have a go.

Do Rangers have European football next season? Can't see any other reason he would prefer them over us, it's not like the weather is any better.

Europa League.
They're also a much bigger club than us.

Much bigger in what way though? They seem like a bigger club in theory but I'm not so sure in practice. Sure their crowds are much bigger but the Scottish leagues are very weak and there's only really 2 teams and it's not much of a challenge when only 1 team is your competition. I can see the Europa league being a draw but what else would be?
What besides the Scottish only cups have they won? Just seems like a bit of a dead end for players as well but each to their own & if that where he wants to go then that's his decision & good luck to the guy.

When people say BBM will be backed I was just assuming a million or 2 for a player

Why would people call that being backed?
By being backed we mean being given enough money for the players he wants.
Judge it at the end of the window, not now. But the fact that multiple sources are saying we've made a £5.5m offer is positive, yes?
