Hi, first time posting here!
I'm interested to see how Eli King gets on this season. Could he stay, or would BBM loan him out to get him going again in a lower league?
Also, where do people see him? My feeling was that he was an 8, but could he be an answer at 6?

i believe he was being lined up as a number 6 by bbm before his injury last year. havent seen enough of him to know if hes good enough for this level i trust bbm to make that call.

Saw him at the pre season friendly at Notts County last season. Thought he was very good, spreading the ball all around and holding his own. Then the injury. Could be as the proverbial saying goes 'like a new signing'?

I hope he does well, but I'd be surprised to see much of him in our first team now we are back on The Championship.
Last season was his big chance to make an impression down in League one, but the injury robbed him of that chance.
Maybe he will slowly be introduced to the first team on occasions from the subs bench; Or alternatively a loan spell to the lower leagues.

I was gutted for him as I think a season in a successful L1 club would have been perfect timing. He's up against it now as the step up is significant.

I'll trust the manager's judgement, but to be honest I'm not convinced that King is good enough.
Hopefully proves me wrong.

Absolutely agree.
Could be a real asset but just can't say I've seen much evidence of it so far.

I agree he looked good pre season but that's it,
it was pre season in the championship it will not be Notts County we play it will be southampton brum WBA west ham Sheffield derby etc ,having said that he deserves a chance in the bench but it's down to Bbm to decide.

BBM obviously rates either King or Dak maybe both to play at 6 otherwise I don't think we'd have left Wintle go

I am probably going to upset a few:
King is 24 yrs old this year and has only shone when he first played for us.
The Jury is out for me big time and he’s def not been proven as a Championship player.
I really really hope he makes it.

Eli King has been loaned out quite a lot
Its a no from me - he will be well out of his depth - A loan for a season with a league 1/2 team will get him match fit and see how he gets on
I saw a couple of Ross County games a couple of seasons ago and it seemed to be his level

Agree also. The jury is out is a much better way of putting it than dismissing him totally like others have done.
Certain posters completely wrote off Bagan previously.
A little bit different but even NG and Wintle were written off by many before last season when they were both excellent.
Let’s hope he stays fit and performs well even if it as a squad player rather than are guaranteed starter.

Only time will tell of course. What I feel is that because younger players have not historically been a success at the club it may well be that our recent previous managers had no desire to play football and therefore this might not always be a reflection on the player themselves. As I have a home in Spain and was fortunate enough to see all last years friendlies and was in attendance at many of the training sessions, my view on Eli was that he was the outstanding player in this period under the tutelage of BBM. He seemed to absolutely grasp what BBM expected from the number 6 role and I would not have been surprised to see him start the season in that position. I believe it was upon this basis that (despite being injured) the club offered him a contract extension.
