Me for one,i can remember when that area was under the original Grange End. I came from a family of Newport County Supporters, at 13 i went down to Cardiif to watch a game with a friend and Ninian Park blew my mind fell in love that first game and 50 years later still attending games. Can still remember lads in white butchers coats, punks, skins, double denim through to trendies and todays label wearers. Its been a rollercoaster but wouldnt have watched any other team. Keep those old pictures coming Annis.

Certainly do. Safe standing is ok but nothing like the old days. Imagine the atmosphere on the Canton if we took all the seats away and put up crash barriers instead. I know its a health and safety issue but no one ever died on the Grange End as far as I can recall.

Watched my first game stood on the Grange End in 1968 - absolutely loved the game & the atmosphere. Been a supporter ever since, albeit nowadays watching every game on CCTV on my TV in my living room in the USA. Whenever I return to Wales (rarely these days) I try to plan it around a home game. I still think the atmosphere is great and I am excited for the new season under BBM.

Bought many a Bovril and pie from that kiosk on the left but the toilets really were disgusting.

I remember when they brought in the curtain between the home and away supporters to try to stem the wave of coins being aimed at the away fans.

I miss the even older Grange End when that was a covered walkway & you had the crowd right above you walking through there just as I'm sure many here do as well.

You could see up through the gaps in the wooden terraces. My mate who was about 14 at the time got kicked out for going underneath while the game was on and trying to look up womens dresses

Be on the sex offenders register these days.

The good old days for me. Ninian park was a fortress never forgot the atmosphere at Leeds fa Cup game. New stadium a morgue. We have a different fan base these days.

Completely agree on the fan base point. The new ground is a sanitised place compared to Ninian park . Great for the OB, Wayne Nash, away fans and players. Not so great for those of us who look back on Ninian park with very fond memories.
Level 4 now and then is nice if you’re happy to pay for some creature comforts but apart from that , I don’t have much positive to say about CCS. No real connection with the place.

I miss those days in the Grange End, can still clearly remember the wooden terracing that you could see through the gaps

, had a few rumbles on there with Bristol, Sunderland, Pompey and of course Man Utd with the big fence separating Grange from Bob Bank...Happy days.

Its upto us fans to make the city stadium ours we are not going anywhere else its the same when most clubs leave and old ground it's the roots of the club.
Times move we have to change attitudes towards our present stadium.
West ham i suspect cannot get along with there new arena after Upton Park a tight ground now there miles from the pitch ours is nowhere near as bad ,we need to change, it's our stadium.

Agreed but the odd one went and quite a few girls around our age at the time (14) looking to pick up a boyfriend. Far more these days.
I remember there was one small cubicle toilet for them next to the mens, but they had to share it with any men who wanted a crap. Not at the same time of course!
