WELCOME TO WREXHAM

So just finished watching series 5 of welcome to wrexham expecting to see our Carabao cup win over them, and to my surprise it did not feature at all.

There were drones up everywhere that day filming and you can bet if they had won it would have featured and been billed as Wrexham being the biggest team in Wales by victory over us.

No mention of the game or result in any of the 8 episodes. I just found it quite funny. Sour grapes maybe.

Let's just hope we beat them in the opener this season.

It doesn't fit the narrative of the show to encourage an interest in a bigger club than themselves. As far as the USA is concerned, Wrexham is a huge club in the small country of Wales. Their players are portrayed as superstars of the game and they will (one day) be as big as the Manchester & Liverpool clubs. When they played Chelsea in a friendly over here a couple of seasons ago, Wrexham were the main attraction. I too watched this series expecting to see our game with them, but I guess it was one defeat too many. We might get a mention in the next series, but I won't hold my breath.
