Be interesting to see this so called great support from Wrexham

As the last time they visited Ninian Park I was their and Wrexham brought exactly 25 Fans

I forgot to say:

It was in the Old Division 2 ( Championship) and that’s the last time I’ve seen Wrexham play in Cardiff , Honestly “ 25 “ Wrexham Fans at Ninian Park

Now that they have Man United and Everton Fans from Wrexham watching them, How many will Wrexham bring??

In fairness to WFC, it's a long trek to Cardiff on a Monday night.
Ridiculous how they've stretched the opening fixtures over 4 days.
Appreciate that the Championship is now a high profile League, but there will be far too many televised games at kick off times, to suit the TV audiences around the world...

Agree with your general sentiments but we have played them a few times since those days haven't we? What about the season we went up with Eddie May in the old 4th Division. They only bought a handful here despite them having a push for promotion ( though it was a Friday night I believe) and we took almost 4,000 up there. Won 2-0. I think they came up with us so we must have played them the following season as well

Re: Be interesting to see this so called great support from

I think they'll bring a sizeable amount.

They were in the top ten for average away attendances in the Championship last season, averaging around 2k.

Some of their fans may have been to Wales games at CCS but for many of them it will be a new stadium to tick off their list.

Monday night not a huge issue in August. They can book a couple of days off work and don't have to worry about kids being in school the next day. Probably nice weather too.

Don’t recall them ever bringing many here, a few 100 maybe? First time I saw us play them was the Welsh cup final at the vetch, I didn’t even notice their fans in the ground until I saw it on tv when I got home…pity full.

I don't remember them making any impression at all back in the day except the one F.A. cup game when we beat them 3-2 just after they had equalized.

Always remember a clip on match of the day of a few celebrating in the Canton when they equalised in the last minute of extra time. Billy Ashcroft if I remember rightly. 30 seconds later Buchanan wins it for us with the last kick of the game

I have no doubt at all that they'll sell out their full allocation.

Spoke to my wrexham mate last night he reckons they will bring full allocation over 3,000 for this game.

Well Tan was clearly considering going to the last home game last season because BBM said "you might see him soon".

He obviously decided not to in the end. Makes me think that he won't return to CCS because that would have been an opportunity for him to bask in the glory of promotion.

Only reason he'd come back is in the unlikely event we're promoted to the Premier League this season.

My personal opinion is unchanged. I don't want him to be at a City game because it would bring an extreme negative reaction, and rightly so.

Remember that well.
Was on the Grange behind the goal as Buchy controlled and shot into the net right in front of me.
Had started in the Enclosure Canton side where the Wrexham fans were. I wasn't allowed to stay. In those days the word was ejected and re-entry was possible.

You must have been close to where I was. I had been at the back of the Grange End and was just making my way down the terraces as the game was almost up. I remember contemplating a trip to Wrexham for the replay when Steve Grapes slipped it back to Buchanan who calmly stoked into the net rather than hit it with his usual cannon ball shot. Cue madness on the terraces!!

I was a little more in the middle towards the front but I always remember the chaos as the winner went in because some huge fat guy grabbed me & was bouncing up & down while hugging me.

Imagine buying a football club, investing 100million plus, and you can't attend a game for fear of abuse, his family must hate the decision.

Yeh an extreme negative reaction for him keeping the Club afloat , for appointing BBM , for building the Academy and producing the talent now playing in the first team , for now building a backroom set up to ensure the Club progresses.
Yeh let's get rid of Tan the man does nothing for Cardiff City.

Possibly the same fat guy who hugged me at the final whistle when we beat England at Wembley for the one and only time. Think it was around the same time give or take a year.

I suppose that would have been early eighties. Got a feeling we both went down. If so, we bounced back first time and don't think they have been since until last year

I’ve realised it was 2002 Ninian Park

3-2 City Won

A Friday night Wrexham had 25 fans in Section A of the Grandstand

I was in Section B that Night
