Sky Sports now reporting that at the last moment Bellamy’s move to Burnley has fallen through and that, irony of ironies, they’re looking at Steve Cooper & Rob Edwards instead - men @FAWales were seeking to replace him with!!!
Update:
Everything is now agreed with Bells / Burnley and Wales will get good Compensation
Compensation is £400,000
All the other stories are bullshit
Wales manager Craig Bellamy is in advanced talks with Burnley over becoming their new head coach ahead of next season.
The Clarets have approached the Football Association of Wales with a view to appointing Bellamy as Scott Parker's successor, with the 46-year-old now understood to be in contract talks with the Championship side.
While a final agreement is yet to be reached, talks have accelerated in the last 48 hours with significant progress made.
BBC Sport revealed on 30 April that Bellamy was a leading contender to replace Parker after his sacking.
Initial indications were that Bellamy preferred to stay on with Wales to guide them through a home nations European Championships in 2028.
But Bellamy is now giving serious consideration to leaving the FAW and is engaged in talks with Burnley.
The former Manchester City, Liverpool and West Ham winger was appointed Wales boss in 2024.
Wales failed to reach the 2026 World Cup, losing to Bosnia and Herzegovina during a penalty shoot-out defeat in Cardiff.
Bellamy's contract had been due to see him through until 2028, including the European Championships being held across England, Scotland, Wales and Republic of Ireland.
Any move to Burnley would see Bellamy return to Turf Moor for a second time, having previously worked under Vincent Kompany as assistant manager at the club before his move to Bayern Munich.
Bellamy was briefly named acting head coach following the Belgian's move to the Bundesliga club , but he left shortly afterwards.

If this is accurate then 'contract talks' means he's going, assuming they agree on terms.

I dont think we went backwards just havnt progressed apart some new youngsters which any manager would have done, even Page eventually.
Tbh Burnley is a step down from International fooyball so I can only assume if there is any truth thats its the wage.
Young players, lets hope they dont try and bag BBM

I have to agree Bells achieved Zero with Wales
This was the easiest World Cup ever to qualify for and Bells failed.

Agree. Apart from North Macedonia home and second half rally against Belgium we have been poor. And contrary to the perceived opinion he had some decent players to pick from.

Thought he was committed to Wales?
Strange way of showing it if true.

"Everything's in place, I get completely backed and it's going to give me the opportunity in the next two years to improve again," Bellamy said before his side's 1-1 draw with Ghana in Cardiff on 2 June.
"Links? I understand it but I don't look too far. I love what I have here.
"I've been offered that elsewhere as well, but I have this here already.
"Wales gave me this opportunity and one or two might not have because I was conscious I haven't managed before. Wales have given me this opportunity and I'm really grateful for that.
"I am ambitious, trust me. I want to earn loads and loads of money but there's a time and now, at this present moment, it just doesn't feel that time."
These comments have not aged well. Very disappointing and feel let down by Craig. Behind closed doors, I’m sure the players will too.

Imagine for a second you've got a really good job, your happy there your boss supports you etc, then a competitor comes in and offers you 5 or 6 times your current salary, does anyone think your a traitor or would it just be impossible to turn down?

I am pleased that he's going. He had a great chance to take us to the World Cup and he failed.
Not convinced he'll be a success at Burnley.

9 times out of 10 you go... only in rare circumstances like domestic personal reasons you would turn it down! It's same in all walks of life

He still be shit. All he’s proven so far is he is an average league one player. Nothing more.

Unlike Jonesy, I'm a keen fan of Rubin.
However, to suggest Wales will move forward by introducing players like Rubin who has yet to prove himself at Championship level, let alone a Welsh shirt is being rather optimistic.
(Take those loyal Bluebird goggles off for a moment)
As I previously commented, Wales simply have not got the quality to regularly qualify for major tournaments, with our few average Premiership players along with a selection of Championship and lower league players.
Maybe Bellamy has finally realised this and has decided to move on.

Being reported widely now, so it’s looking like it’s all down to Craig and Burnley reaching an agreement
I’m a little surprised but not shocked after recent reports, and some talk of a disagreement between him and the FAW
Whilst a couple of decisions v Bosnia appeared a little baffling, I think Craig did a pretty good job with Wales overall, and he could have been in the USA right now for the sake of a penalty shootout loss
Clearly, Wales supporters will have been disappointed not to be there, but I’m disappointed to see another thread turned into a ‘
slagging off’ opportunity of Craig and Rubin!

Iv always been of the opinion that unless the coach/manager is a complete tool country’s tend to do well not because the manager/coach is particularly special but because they just have generational talent and a united squad
Take France and Qatar for Wales, I believe most half decent Managers/Coaches would have got us there rather than anything to do with Rob Page or Chris Coleman, the same with England under Southgate
On the flip side you can get it badly wrong as England have over the years with poor appointments and the squad not being united, the one thing Southgate probably got right to be fair, but shouldn’t be that hard
For me, Cooper in the perfect candidate, he will bring unity and won’t try and make it about him, I like Rob Edwards but I don’t feel the same vibe, might be wrong but feel like he will feel he has something to prove and try and make it to serous rather than an enjoyable experience for the players
I already fear for England in this tournament, who cares if it was a shit game or they didn’t get the winner? They are unbeaten in 2 with Panama to play, will win the group, but for some it’s just not enough, the mindset is boggling

Sky reporting this has now fallen through. Not sure how true that is, but this is what they've said:
Craig Bellamy's proposed move to Burnley has fallen through, Sky Sports News understands.
It is understood that the Championship club have turned their attention to other managerial targets, including Steve Cooper and Rob Edwards

I don't think Bellamy was doing a good job anyway, but he will have a lot of rebuilding to do with Wales fans.
Said he wouldn't leave and then it looked like he was going, now it's fallen through.
Add to that, he just failed to qualify for a World Cup with more teams than ever in it.
Thu Jun 25, 2026 9:28 am
Bellamy only knows one way of playing and sadly, that meant he couldn't tactically adjust against superior teams. England and Belgium hammered us because Bellamy kept insisting on "having a go", leaving us wide open and exposed. Doku ran riot with the time and space we allowed him. Against the better teams and especially if we had managed to qualify for the World Cup, Bellamy would have been drastically exposed.
Look at how Carlos Queiroz set up his Ghana team against England to get a draw and that's the difference with a good manager who can adjust, adapt and organise his team so his players know exactly what they're doing to see through a successful game plan. We were never going to achieve anything under Bellamy and it will be good for everyone if he moves on.

Doesn't matter if his move has fallen through.
Bellamy has made the decision to leave us and we must now replace him with a new manager.

Was/is the decision (either way) all down to CB?

Surprised bellers didn’t jump ship, can’t see much fun with Wales for the next few years. Not much talent coming through and when we get let down by some of the more high profile players who play in PL missing penalties ( Dan James, nico and Brennan) what more can he do?

If all the facts are correct then I agree.
I don’t mind Bellamy personally but I think it’s impossible for him to carry on managing Wales.
