Cardiff City have made a big behind-the-scenes appointment by poaching Swansea recruitment chief Dominic Newton as
their new Senior Technical Scout. The move had been months in the making and sees Newton (second left in pic) cross the south Wales divide after three-and-a-half years
at Swansea. ~ Newton boasts an impressive talent ID record at the Swans, playing a key role in recruitment during a period which saw the club land Championship Golden Boot winner Zan Vipotnik, supporters' player of the year Goncalo Franco and highly-rated midfielder Ethan
Galbraith. He is also understood to have helped identify Lawrence Vigouroux, Josh Tymon and Carl
Rushworth. In his Swansea farewell message, Newton said he had played a key role in identifying "the majority of the talent in the squad" and highlighted the recruitment of players who went on to win fans' and players' player of the year awards, make the Championship Team of the Season and claim the Championship golden boot.

Not really the coup WOL think it is
Vipi was signed as he suddenly become available for free
Vigoroux was known to Luke Williams from Swindon
Rushworth was brought in off the back of Margetson working with him for England
He’d have had next to no input on those and he knew this.
Not poached at all he was let go by us.
