Saw it other day .. think there's a subtle difference in how Alston executed his turn to cruyff but he did it 1st so should be the Alston turn? But think cruyff turn sounds better... :laughing6:

The ex Spurs manager Ange Postecoglu pointed this out on ITV the other night but as you say, Cruyff did do it much better.

Cruyff was one of the best players ever but Alston did the turn first.
Cruyff called his biography My Turn, worth a read btw.

Cruyff wasn't hacked down by the defender after he did his - hard to make it look good when someone takes you out like that! I'm lucky to be old enough to have seen Alston play his only season for us - what a talent he was :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Straight from the kick off against Brighton if I recall. Would have been the quickest goal in football league history if it had gone in. It was on Match of the Day in the good old days when the BBC would occasionally feature games from outside the top tier.

It was indeed v Brighton and it also featured on Match of the Day. It didnt go in, but from memory, it was pretty close but we ultimately lost the game...
