Burnley have made an official approach to the FAW

And are willing to pay Compensation

Ball appears to be in Craig Bellamy’s court if he wants to become Burnley manager. No agreement in place, but leaving would represent slap in face for FAW who gave Bellamy his break in management

Craig Bellamy has been made 1-3 ODDS-ON favourite for Burnley job. Turf Moor hierarchy are great admirers of Bellamy.

I hope he goes.

Updated:

Burnley are advancing in their pursuit of appointing Craig Bellamy as their new manager and are optimistic of agreeing a deal with Wales to land their top target.

If I were them, I'd have tried to get BBM. Sees football in a similar way but is a hundred times better than Bellamy. Although I don't see BBM leaving unless a Premier League club goes in for him or the Ireland national team.

Wales would probably improve with a different manager.

Hope he goes and the door opens for Steve Cooper.

I don’t think “Bellamy-ball” works for Wales as he doesn’t have the time or coaching staff to drill it into the players.

Cooper’s stock is at his lowest but I think he could do a good job bringing through the next generation of players

If he does go there, he’ll be after some of our players

Personally, I can't imagine there are many managers around who would get much more out of the squad of players they would have at there disposal.
A few average Premiership players supported with a few good Championship and lower league players are always likely to struggle to qualify for the World Cup or Euros.
I think Bellamy has done a fair job and was unlucky in the World cup qualifiers considering our lack of real quality that we had in recent years with Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale.

You’re spot on there. He is over achieving. Nothing coming through to the level of giggs and bale. Wilson by far the best player and he’s nothing special in the premier league as far as big boys concerned be lucky to be on the bench. Wales will go backward if he leaves.

I don't see it either. I was against the Bellamy appointment but look at the squad should we be sniffing world cup qualification? we've been spoiled by having Bale carry us. What Bellamy does will only take us so far but we've got Wilson and Nico who are good Premier League players that's it everyone else is bottom end Prem or Championship, who else is going to do a better job?

True, but do we have better players than Bosnia? I think so.

Could stomach it if we'd have gone out to Italy but Bosnia? No.

Didn’t they beat Italy though?

I put up the same post on Wednesday , however the odds have now drifted to 4/6 and Postecoglou has been significantly backed into 4/1.
Bellamy now an uneasy favourite for the job , which is a shame.

I saw this yesterday and just started a post regarding Bellamy and BBM. It will be interesting to see how their careers develop over the next few years, both of which show promise. Where will they end up in 10 years? Football management can be so rewarding for some and brutal for others.

Also agree; I’d lost interest in international football a long time ago (the Alun Evans era started it for me) but I like what Craig is trying to achieve with the limited resources he has at his disposal, and I find his honesty refreshing, too!

He can’t ’buy’ players in like in club football, so he’s moulding his own

I hope he stays and takes this small nation to Euro 28 at least

I agree also, the squad is so weak, it really was a poison chalice of a job. It will be interesting to see how he does when he can mould a team to suit exactly what he wants, buy the type of players he needs to make it work, and get on with day-to-day management.

I personally hope Bellamy is given time in this Wales post. I like the way he sees the game and what he’s trying to do with the national squad. Unlike club managers, he has to make do with the resources he has available to him and I think he’s having tk coach a lot of these boys.

I’m not sure what people expect.

Bellamy is young, keen, articulate and should be given time.

Considering he’s got no Bale driving us on and no Ramsey we’ve got a pretty average or below average squad.

I hope he stays also and doesn’t go to a shithole like Burnley!

I think we need a more pragmatic manager than Bellamy. I think he'll be a very good club manager with money, so Burnley should be perfect. He needs his high octane players, to play his high octane game.

Rubin could shine in the championship and he still wouldn't have a slot in his system, he just isn't dynamic enough for CB, its about running and shapes. The only position he could play him is 6 but he takes too many risks.

I think he'll leave. He has found out stuff and will want to personally progress. He can't wait for the next generation to be good enough.

Get in the taxi Bellamy , you are off because you can't handle criticism for the mistakes you have made in tactics and man management.
Rubin must be ecstatic at the news.

Steve Cooper should be number one target but not sure it will happen.

BBM v's CB at Cardiff will be interesting, although Bellamy would have a far more expensive and experienced squad to manage.

Agree about Bosnia . Better players than Scotland as well and good enough to qualify. Ampadu, Nico, Harry Wilson, Brookes, Jordon James, Rodon, Ben Davies, Brenan Johnson when he can be arsed) Dan James, Sorba Thomas is not a bad base. Our problem is we have a weak second eleven, though a few promising ones coming through
